Myanmar’s junta leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, is set to travel to Russia in the coming days at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported by the junta-controlled Myanmar Television on 28 February.

Min Aung Hlaing finally gets his wish. After so many years of sucking up to Putin and Russia, and visiting Russia at least once every year he was never treated as a head of state, getting mini vans for airport transportation instead of limos, no armed honor guards, and never got to meet Putin face to face. He's just been treated as a piece of shit by Russians since 2021, and he kept sucking up to them. Now he finally gets the treatment he's craved - to be seen and treated as head of state. This is so laughable. I wonder what he offered that Putin couldn't refuse. Can't be his ass because it's well used.

It's probably more about the Russians and the Chinese politicking. The Russians want to send a signal to China. (Just my hunch)

There is no upside to giving honors to this guy, he is in a corner and will take whatever they offer him, so.. it's about sending a message
