USian here... Iirc we're losing a ton of water on the West side of the country due to farms in California, and one of the biggest culprits is almonds. Boycotting American almonds may end up being good for the US as well, since our ruling class is too stupid to stop themselves.

I don't believe Canada can be a EU member, but we can make good trade agreements with them

australia and israel are in eurovision song contest, so anything's possible.

I thought The Cranberries were from Ireland

I think that's just in your head

Georgia is a Russian bitch at the moment (not Belarus tier but moving in that direction).

Also, according to this comment it's likely Georgia in US producing pecans, not Georgia in the Caucasus mountains.

That would be strange: why replace USA with another part of the USA?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Exactly. Georgia (US) was mistaken for Georgia (Europe).

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

That's sad and show the overall quality of the list.

US Georgian here. I can confirm we have a lot of pecans. I even have a pecan tree in my yard.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago

i'd extend that to "who the fuck imports potatoes", it's the one crop that grows effortlessly basically anywhere

Would be really happy if Canada was a future EU member 🤞 but this doesn't instill much confidence https://www.politico.eu/article/canadians-want-join-european-union-will-never-happen-paula-pinho/ 😔

EU was created to prevent future wars in the European continent, and several countries like Morocco or Turkey were rejected on simple geographical ground.

It’s not a bandwagon where every guy scared of Trump can join.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

why do people think things can't change from what they were when they were created? there's 0 reason whatsoever that should have any relevance today.

The EU is what ever EU members want it to be, it's that simple. And i for one want canada to join the EU.

Stop labeling Canada as a future member of the EU. It will never happen. The canadian population do not know that they will lose many things, such as their own currency. They just know that the EU is a free trade zone and a defense partnership.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You can be EU Member with your own currency 🤷‍♂️

[–] [email protected] -2 points 3 days ago

They have to work to fulfill all requirements to adopt the Euro. Juncker in 17 “I have no intention of forcing countries to join the euro if they are not willing or not able to do so”. He softened the politics about the currency. There will be a President of the European Commission who will not be so kind and soft. Ursula von der Leyen did not talk about this politics at all.

Yes, boycott the united states to support... Iran?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because that's the only choice, yes? 🙄

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 days ago

Fine if there are good alternatives, but it's pretty weird to go out of your way to support Iran, as if they have any claim to moral high ground over the United States.
