boycotts and protests are actually great though. we can do it all when it's not election season

This makes it sound like the people participating in protests and boycotts do not vote, which is untrue. In fact, I would wager that activists are one of the demographics with the highest voter turnout. Additionally, protests can actually help increase voter turnout by raising awareness of key issues.

Exactly. Protests and boycotts are much harder than voting. Yes, we got there because many people took democracy for granted and didn't vote.

There are protests and boycotts, because that's what's left.

NGL I have a feeling the USA is going to triple down on fascism next year at the polls.

Republicans are absolutely fucking gutting this country like a pig and what is the left's response? Record low approval for the DNC. If that doesn't turn all the fucking way around then we're all cooked, mate. It's over.

Until the Dem politicians start putting their careers on the line, and the dem voters start doing something other than hoping someone else will do something, that's pretty much it.

Didn't anyone try auction flags?

Oh.

This is nonsense. Yes, we got here, because many people didn't vote, but protesting, boycotting, resisting is what's left of we want to keep democracy.

There's nothing to vote right now, and likely elections in 2026 and 2028 won't be democratic elections if this admin isn't stopped.

You are correct. AND, I know many people who didn't vote, either out of protest or inertia and now are full of civic engagement. If only they found the enthusiasm 6 months ago, we would not be in this situation
