This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

Atleast you could grapple over the one in Sekiro and the enemies aren't immune for some reason.
It's also not like poison does meaningful damage in Fromsoft games. It's the other dots that suck, like Toxin in DS1 or rot in Elden Ring (though the actual rot swamp areas are the weakest form of rot damage).
You get used to it. Eventually you learn to love the swamp. Especially if you invade, since your victims panic like crazy.
And the one game where poison was actually terrifying didn't have a poison swamp (Dark Souls 2).
Not a swamp but it did have a dark hallway of poisonous death. If it had the swampy slow-down, too, it would be the top worst run back to a boss instead of the cool ranch demon.
It also had an area which they mined… poison, somehow. They mined it like it was coal, just pickaxing it right out the ground while their workers caught the green lung.
Poisonous yes, but not a swamp.
Neither is a lake 😐
The damage isn't the problem, it's more the slow movement speed.
