When was he cancelled. Maybe my memory is flawed.

I remember it as his him stopping recording due to health. And his humor just not appealing to the 90s generation.

Heck even those of us who grew up in the 70s found the same basic joke a bit cringed as we grew up.

I remember most of his negative press being well after he had retired.

When was he cancelled.

Yeah, comedy series come and go, the Benny Hill Show's time had passed with alternative comedy helping refresh the humour landscape. It wasn't cancelled it just faded away.

In the next two weeks, similar documentaries will look at the 'cancellation' of Kenny Everett and Fawlty Towers, despite the latter barely being off screens.

Same for Kenny Everett and my understanding was they didn't want to do any more, I imagine they had offers to do more.

Again my memory may be flawed.

But I think Kenny everate had some issues. I remember him moving from the BBC to itv and back because he pissed of staff at the BBC. But can't remember the details.

Seems we are going to find out.

Kenny was still a big name when he died. His own TV show ended in '89 when he was diagnosed HIV positive, and he continued working in a more limited form for a few more years before succumbing to AIDS in '95.
