I mean, to be fair there IS a lot of fraud in science - corporations hiring people to write research which has a bias; but because of the scientific method, we find them and remove them constantly.

Conservatives think that Science is a competing religion, and not simply a method of learning about the world around you. They're just short of flat-earthers, who've gone COMPLETELY bonkers and don't trust any authority whatsoever.
