Fair Vote Canada 🗳️🍁 on Bluesky

As authoritarianism rises globally, Canada still hands majority power to parties with just 30–40% of the vote.

We can’t keep risking our democracy like this.

It’s time for proportional representation—where every vote counts.

I’m all in on proportional representation but the irony of FairVote highlighting the concentration of power while posting on BlueSky is just too on the nose.

Still got my upvote.

I agree that the fediverse and proportional representation go together well with the small parties and independents.

Can this take die already? Be glad it ismt Shitter and hush. When enough people are on Mastodon maybe they'll use that too. Don't lose sight of the prize. Simple, expressive messaging is an absolute must

Ironically, your take is the same line of reasoning that I tell people not to be afraid to vote Liberal because it's better than Conservative, while still pushing for an eventual fair Proportional Representation system.

This insane perfectionism for every party thats not Russia-backed needs to go. Its gonna be hard enough to get the Liberals to sign away their Boom ticket forever going forward once proportional rep is out of the bottle, like people need to focus on the issues and stop gatekeeping about irrelevancies. Nobody cares if its on Bluesky vs Mastodon, if Bluesky can help sufficiently amplify the message and Twitter is owned by Musk and Meta is another shithead for demo, you go with the next most popular thats still Free World based and at least has started the conversation where Musk and Zuckerberg and friends are not in control per se
