This is such a teachable "leopards ate my face" moment for all Canadians.

Be Canada

Want to save money on healthcare

Agree to sell private firm to Americans

Get worse healthcare

Independence is reduced

Americans turn on you

Same thing is happening with the CBC right now, but nobody understands what's at stake!!

Be Canada

Want to save some money by not funding CBC, private media

Almost all conservative newspapers already owned by Americans

Agree to shut CBC down/defund/whatever

Americans start absolutely hammering us with propaganda

Have not a single way to defend ourselves

Not a single source of journalistic integrity left in Canada

Not funding CBC has absolutely nothing to do with saving money.

It's so they can control you better. It's just lies people will swallow

Its not that black and white. Some people certainly say that the reason they want to defund the CBC is because the directors/CEO are being paid way too much.

Yeah good point. Local news too; Vancouver's local news are all US-owned private, same with radio

Them having a contract with them at this late date makes zero sense. Fuck private health care, but even if you wanted a private Canadian alternative, DynaLife is literally headquartered in Edmonton.

Replacing Lifelabs is easier said than done. The lab needs to be in a location where the sensitive testing machines can operate. The machines need to be imported. There's a lot of hurdles to overcome just to start

Is LifeLabs still on a rotating strike?

Saskatchewan, too, please.
