It still blows my mind that he ever had any to start with.
Every headline reads like: "Trump's approval rating drops to 49.9%, his lowest yet! 25% of people disapprove, and 25% thought Biden was still president"
The only poll I'm interested is the one that puts him in a short-drop noose.
Unless we get a bunch of support for the opposition this means fuck all.
Like if they choose MTG next, we're so extremely screwed.
Trump doesn't care about the public. Trump only cares about himself.
A simple executive order will fix that
He still has 40% support, so he's still incredibly popular.
We all know what it actually takes to stop Fascists.
This guy had an idea once.
Climbing on top of a tank and yelling at the driver?
You would get shot doing that in America.
We'll get shot anyway if we don't start shooting back
40% of people that would respond to a stupid fucking survey on popularity.
He won the popular vote. Step foot outside an urban area and you'll see that his popular support isn't just an illusion.
There's a floor of around 38% of Americans who are going to hold that line to the death. They've lost friends, family, and businesses over their stance already and haven't budged. This has been going on for ten years now. They're in it til the end.
I live in a very rural area. I'm aware of what rural people support. My point was just that the popularity polling has been and always will be flawed. It doesn't represent what the majority of the country believes. But we have a fucked up system with the electoral college essentially allowing lower populated states to have essentially the same say as states with big cities.
The majority voted for Donald Trump.
He won the popular vote.
He did not win because of some electoral college bullshit.
He won because more people voted for him than his opponents.
Come to terms with the fact that 1 third of our country would sit on the couch and watch another third exterminate the last third.
I'm not a statistician, but I question your understanding of the word majority.
You can fool some of the people all of the time.
It's closer to what Obama was at mid career. If you want bad you gotta hit W numbers, he was at a low of 19% approval in 2008.
Lucky for him he doesn’t need public support. Or care.
Bullshit. Every leader, even a dictator, needs public support.
The deeper they get their claws in, the less support they need. But Trump doesn’t have them in that deep yet.
Yeah, if the president hits Bush numbers like 19% in 2008 or lower then you get a much higher chance of being ousted. If you lose enough popularity within the Republican party then the Senate can impeach him and remove him from office.
Every leader, even a dictator, needs public support.
They get it, implicitly, from the mass of people who continue about their business uninterrupted.
What protest seeks to do is to kick off a popularly supported disruption in a dictator's supply chain. But what they risk is taking the blame for the crisis, as a result.
The deeper they get their claws in, the less support they need. But Trump doesn’t have them in that deep yet.
He's got all the cabinet level offices and is purging the departments of opponents. There is nothing currently in his way
Because he sucks
Polls don't mean shit. You're gonna need to drag him out of the oval office by his ankles if you want him to leave.
Polls do matter, because it won't go over well to "Mousolini" him if he still has a strong base. But clearly he and Bukele are wary of the growing unrest, or else they would not have separated Garcia from the CECOT gen pop or allowed a photo op.
We are only 3 months in and he has flinched a few times. There is serious hope that his reign will be much shorter than Erdogan's, for example, regardless of his personal health.
huh. can't imagine why.
Important to remember trump is a symptom. It's his cult of supporters that stand behind and support no matter what he does.
This is 10s of millions of people. They are police, lawyers, judges, doctors, teachers, neighbors, etc.
Getting rid of trump is important, but the point is we have much bigger foundational problems to fix. Conservative elite billionaire oligarchy class owning our media, political system, education, propaganda, etc. They are the ones who helped cause all this.
what were the 18-24 year olds thinking when they voted Trump?
Have you been on YouTube lately? (Or any algorithmic social media in general, like Facebook?) Pro-MAGA content gets promoted while anything against is buried. Anti-Trump comments are hidden and you get a "some content might not be visible yet" message in your comment history.
Gen Z was raised by algorithms, so is it really a big surprise that they lean MAGA?
Same crap I thought in 2016 probably (thanks reddit). F the dems and burn the place to ground. I f%#!ing hope they grow up. Cause that was a terrible choice. I still say f the dems but you need to prioritize targets from most evil first then work your way down.
They didn't. They didn't vote for the alternative because of one issue. That's the problem.
