I'm always surprised that BotW isn't a bit higher up given how long it's been out for and the positive press it got. I guess it's not as casual as all the other games on this list (bar TotK, of course), but I thought it would still have wider appeal.

Just need 8 Million more console sales to reach #1!

Nintendo expects to sell another 4.5 million Switch 1 consoles during this fiscal year (April '25 through March '26), so they are confident that they will beat the DS.
If we can do 4.5M this fiscal year, then can't we do 4-5 Million in next year or two? PS2 just jumped 10M recently because of all the consoles they sold in last couple of decades.
I think it'll definitely pass the DS, not sure about the PS2 though... 🤔
Yeah I think the PS2 is out of reach. Unless they slash Switch 1 prices and keep software support going I don't think there's going to be a long tail. Pretty much everyone that wants a switch has one at this point.
