my inner pessimist keeps reminding me that the nez perce, the lakota, the navajo, the ponca, the dene, the metis, (plus many more) were likewise penned within open air prisons while american and canadian forces culled their numbers using military violence and starvation in the name of "national security" like the gazans are currently experiencing and the overwhelming majority of americans and canadians today are ignorant of it; including the unacceptably large swathes of the victim's descendants.
those who have the power to to right the continued affects of these wrongs will do nothing beyond a performance to fool the overwhelming majority of us; who will continue on to support them while simultaneously denouncing anyone who tries to hold the powerful to account as malcontents, tankies, or foolish for not accepting the "greater good".
i'm convinced that the isrealis are going to repeat this cycle with the few gazans that are left alive in the future, despite Johnstone's and other's efforts to the contrary; just as had occurred in the united states and canada between the 1830's to the 1950's.
