3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Hi! Can you share your recipe, please? I wanna make some for my wife 😄

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Basically this recipe.

I think I added a tad more sugar (⅓ cup), a full tsp of vanilla, and I doubled the baking powders and baking soda. I cannot really explain why I did this. I may have doubled the salt. I used just butter, no shortening.

Now put that mixer to use and whip up lots of cream. YUM!

Edit: lots not logs...lol

I can get on board with whipped cream logs

The color is interesting. So extremely evenly. How?

This particular Aldi Brand waffle iron seems to do very even on the bottom. If you flip them over that is not the case on top

My stomach rumbled!

Are these waffles meant to be eaten with savory food like the bacon? Are they even salty themselves?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, they are a bit sweet. You’ve never combined sweet and salty before, life waffles and syrup with bacon? I recommend.

I seldom eat waffles anyhow but I only know them as a sweet food, so I asked. It does sound very yummy.

There's quite a few sweet/salty combos I also like. Apart from the usual (ketchup, sweet chili sauce, some far-east dishes): ginger snaps with blue cheese, or vanilla ice cream with salty liquorice.

You…you mentioned…ketchup. If this were my allthingsfoodandcooking community, you would be banned! 🤮🤬😾

Ketchup is best when not made with tomatoes.

Mango ketchup on pork chops or blueberry ketchup on duck are both amazing.

I am triggered by the too small for the portion plate.

I would assume it's a serving plate, but then why is butter already applied?

OCD engaged.

It’s just the plate I stacked them on. Regular dinner plate, but that’s not one serving. Honestly I only ate like 3 quarter segments of one waffle. The butter was just sitting extra so I just threw on there.

That's not dull I would kill for some waffles rn

Please don’t turn me in for breaking the rules.

I'll never tell, that bacon also looks great :D
