We are getting all the classics back. We started with trenches and now we are getting the dragoons. What next?

Well, we already have battle wizards with the drones as well, so I guess the next part is clerics and necromancers

Hopefully not chemical weapons. ~~I know Russia has used CS gas on the battlefield and legally that is "chemical warfare" but let's not pretend that's on the same level as fucking Sarin.~~

i duno about this one, not seen anything to suggest it doesn’t just give the enemy free kills

I initially thought the same, but won't immediately deny that there could be a correct use of motorcycles.

Most of the russians we see getting killed on motorcycles seem to be using them over longer exposed distances without other supporting units nearby. Then they're hit by drones.

No matter how you move around the front, you will be exposed to drones. If these motorcycle units are used to quickly support an ongoing assault or defence, and are moved together with APC's or have some jamming device with them, this could be a very preferable alternative to doing the same movements in an unarmoured car or on foot.

One situation I can imagine is initiating an assault, and then quickly rushing in motorcycle troops to support the assault. They'll still be exposed, but you've created a situation where the enemy has to react to an assault force that is suddenly larger than they thought, and they need to choose between hitting the incoming support or the ongoing assault.

I thought I read an article stating that the Russians tried motorcycles and that it didn't go so well for them. I take it the Ukrainians feel they have a better methodology using motorcycles?

The article says the Ukrainians received training so that's one difference.

Meat wave motorcycle assault is still a meat wave assault... It's not the tool, it's how you use it

Exactly this. The armoured russian meat wave that went for Kyiv in 2022 ended like the rest of their meat waves. All the armour in the world still doesn't help much when your tactic is to throw a bunch of unsupported people through exposed terrain that's under complete fire control.
