I'm not sure if pixelfed is fully ready , but it's the main insta alternative for the fediverse.

much thanks to @gary_host_laptop for the logo design :)
If you need Instacrap in order to stay updated on your friends / family while sharing minimal data with Zuckerbot™, you can use Barinsta.
Thanks for the suggestion but I hope to scrap insta within the next week and after that I will have no more social media accounts apart from Lemmy and mastodon. it's going to be very freeing
About to do the same.
nice! hope your day is good
as an "insta" user from the early days I find it truly appalling to see the downfall of an app that started out as an innovation, which brought so much new fun photo sharing. after fb acquired it, it became the scammy service as we know it today, not to mention the toxic influencer & ad culture that developed around it. it's a shame that it has already come so far that not even bibliogram works anymore, but ultimately this only goes to show how urgent it is to finally move on.
for reference, here is a post about instagram's blocking of IPs:

You said it perfectly , I feel like it has fallen victim to Facebook and how facebook commercialises its users therefore taking away any quality of content posted there
Isn't Wire a chat app? Does it have one-to-many/broadcast channels?
I'm asking because I replaced Instagram with another chat app, Telegram, because it has broadcast private/public channel so I can say to people to "follow" me there, on my personal private channel.
Yes wire is purely for messaging but you can make group chats, I chose it over signal because signal asks for your phone number :(
