Be the change you want to see in the world, buy a wii, yell in rooms, get divorced. Think of the children

Wait this is a common experience? Makes me grateful my parents never fight

I can pretty much solely thank my family dysfunction for all the tech skills I have.

Just shutup in my room, headphones on, listening to radiohead, doing school work, learning how all things computer work, seeking out various knowledge sets because learning is fun!

I'm in my 30s now, and it wasn't untill a few years ago I finally realized that ... that is not a normal or average childhood.

... But its also more common than a lot of other people from functional families seem to think.

Humans are messed up in general so it's probably common enough tbh. My childhood was a bit different though. The arguing was never mutual. It was always my dad screaming at my mom while she sits there and takes it. I remember realizing that was abnormal by watching media growing up... realizing that couples are supposed to love each other and that fights are generally a mutual experience, not just one person belittling the other.

Anyway sorry that was oversharing lol

Yeah, a lot of people just have coping mechanisms, and they're not like bad for you, necessarily. And for me, you know, I like to do certain things to distract myself, and they might be a result, or me being a product of my environment, which could also be a good or a bad thing, depending where placed, what other new environment that I'm possibly engaged in. But it's like, also, you're aware of this. It means you're self aware. Like some kind of lucid dream state, this thing called reality. Or you could just follow your ego, your false perception of self, with delusions of grandeur, and make rash decisions while you project your insecurities on others. Pretty much every fucking American president, administration, or anybody with power in government.

It's wild, you know, people's perception of things. There's always like two sides to every story.
