…and people have the audacity to ask for reasons I don’t want children.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 3 days ago (2 children)

My mom threatens to not give me any inheritance if I don't

"give her a grandchild"
and
"stop 'acting' depressed"

[–] [email protected] 35 points 3 days ago (2 children)

What inheritance? It'll evaporate quickly as soon as elderly care and associated medical costs are needed.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Can confirm. The only inheritance I got was a funeral bill.

Lmfao.

We're aren't even white, it'll be gone as soon as the gestapo shows up and declare us terrorists and do "civil asset forfeiture" then we all get shipped into el salvador, and my mom will still tell me how I'm the worst child she ever had.

Like, fascism is here and the family is still divided.

Paying you money for giving her a child? Sounds like child trafficking to drag.

Man, I hate this question not only for its personal nature but because, I mean, has the person asking me lived under a rock for a few decades? Shouldn't the onus of proof here be on the reasons for having one and no-kids be the default?

They keep electing the two parties, as long as this happens they will be poverty level. Other option is to be money conscious

The voting system (first-past-the-post) + electoral college (DEI for conservatives who are easily manipulated by the upper class) + gerrymandering (REDMAP) make it nearly impossible for a third party to win. See Duverger's law.

Buckle up, it's going to get real bad soon when all of those government jobs lost start to kick in. If his budget bill goes through, there will be very few safety nets.

Are we great again yet? I can't tell from here.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 days ago

Of course! Didn't you hear? The brown people are really suffering! Aren't you happy?

Don't worry, the bottom 60% will get some tax relief soon, at the expense of the health coverage of the poorest. Of course, the top 10% will also get their "fair" share of relief.

So, bottom percenters, thank your local Republican for the $90 your going to be getting in exchange for your Medicaid. What will you be spending your Trump tax break on? Maybe it'll arrive just in time to help you pay for the new big video game release.

Also, it's going to create a deficit that will very likely trigger across the board budget cuts, including Medicare cuts. Likely part of the plan - all they have to do is nothing and "Oh no, the Democrats wouldn't help us cut more vital services and school lunch programs this year so the rules make it so everything gets cut! It's all their fault!"

Do not, my friends, become addicted to food. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence.

Nope. It sucks. Grocery prices keep climbing and most everyone that I know seem to enjoy what Fucky Don is doing. No one complains like when Biden was in office and prices were coming down still (until I bring it up)...

Side note: A coworker of mine was telling me gas prices were coming down. I just said, they sure seem to jump up more than down right now. People are delusional.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Something has broken in a lot of brains. I think maybe it's the number of things they can keep track of. Why keep track of your expenses when you can just trust the president you voted for when he says prices are down?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 days ago

What, working three jobs isn't supposed to be the standard?

Somebody lied to me man.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And 40% of that group are fucking stupid and are happy with it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

More than half, more likely.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 days ago

No. Not really. Everyone is struggling and pretending not to struggle at the same time.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah but we've got FrEeDoM! coming out of our ass, so there's that!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Mmmm. Diarrhea Freedom for the win!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

Those pesky food safety regulashuns are stifling the American entrepreneurial spirit!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

No. Not even close to okay.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

I wish we had such statistics on modern day

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah. They really need to word these things better to start with.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

It's intentional. Large media outlets are owned by the people with wealth that—if not hoarded and locked away—would help those 60% of households be able to afford a minimal quality of life.
