He has been profoundly mentally ill for decades. Fucking hell, I knew this as a kid growing up in NYC in the 80s. I find it difficult to accept how dim so much of the electorate has proven itself.

Yeah he’s had an awful reputation in NYC long before he became a national figure, especially after his public campaign to kill the exonerated five (boys falsely accused of an attack who were convicted and served full sentences before being exonerated as adults).
He’s always been a proudly and profoundly contemptible man.
Yes, he's been eat up with NPD, and who knows what else, since forever. He was the laughing stock of America in the 80s, 90s, even 2000s. But his mental decline has been sharp and obvious since 2021 at my reckoning, really falling off a cliff in the past 2 years.

Been beaten up around here for saying exactly this. My thoughts are the decline ramped up in 2021 or so. Problem is, the media just reports quips and sentences. And when we hear him, it's the usual meaningless blather. Read a transcript and it gets scary fast.

I applauded that decision, but the reality was that despite Biden showing his age, it was clear more often than not that he remained sharp and had a deep knowledge and understanding of both politics and the world. The 82-year-old even managed to leave us with a growing economy, which Trump has since tanked.

Just listen to how he speaks in just the last year alone. There is something drastically different going on inside his mind. My grandmother passed away in 2008 of a stroke before that happened. She was very lively with a voice that could easily fill a room. Towards the end of her life she would slur words talk in a whisper and go on long rambles about nothing or things that happened years or decade ago. I see the same thing happening with Trump now.
