Well this could hardly have come at a better time, given the news about lemm.ee. I suppose that seals the fate of this community and I'll see you all over at the new one

Unfortunate timing, but yes indeed
Let the complaining begin! I'll kick things off. To me "casual" is such an American word. It evokes images of a "dude" in "slacks" and ugly white New Balance "sneakers", "having a beer" (but only one). I'm pretty sure Brits - for whom joking is the whole purpose of life - use this word mostly ironically, or they certainly did when I was at school. The very idea of being "casual" is kind of comic in its self-regard, if you think about it.
Anyway, "Casual" it is. And who cares what Brits think, they left Europe after all, right? So maybe I'll come and have a (single) Bud Lite with the Euro-dudes at your new community soon. Have a nice day!
[email protected] is the 5th most active community of that instance, so I'm not sure it's too ironic for them
Have a nice day too!
It's because everyone just copies the R-site and whatever else comes from across the pond. Like the obedient little supplicants of our cultural overlords that we all are!
But yes, fair enough.
We can also use this one for memes and jokes and the other one for less formal or important news.
Memes and jokes on their own are fine, the issue is that they tend to just be about politics and news, and attacks towards against countries under the pretense of humor. https://old.reddit.com/r/YUROP/ is definitely mostly that.
It's personal, but news and politics are everywhere on Lemmy. I just wanted a place without them.
If other people want to take over [email protected], and make it closer to the subreddit, that's an option too.
Brother, the link is not working for me on :( Api error, object not found 😭
What about this one https://lemmy.world/c/[email protected] ?
My hero!
That one worked, thank you 🥹❤️
You're welcome, see you there!
