I've been putting in a lot effort into [email protected] for more than a year now (I enjoy the tycoon game genre). Recently I started modding/curating [email protected] and it's almost surprising how much faster the community is growing (MAUs, but also engagement).

It makes sense, RPG games are far more popular than business sim games, just funny to see this dynamic firsthand.

As a gamer who mostly has no idea about the relative popularity of different genres it is interesting to learn this from your comment on Fedigrow.

Even trawling through new Steam releases, you almost always have more reviews for RPG type games (even indie ones).

Interesting indeed!

crazypeople.online continues to grow steadily. The number of local users is up and multiple communities have been started by others. It's nice to see the resources being utilized, and occasionally seeing other members throughout Lemmy.

I'm happy with the growth and activity on pretty much all of the communities I started here-

[email protected] continues to gain subscribers as the MAUs hover around 3k.

[email protected] has significantly fewer subscribers than weedtime but has more MAUs. There are more people replying and voting here but not many posting.

[email protected] has a few more subscribers than the meme community with much lower MAUs. This community sees a lot more posting from others compared to the meme community though so MAUs don't tell the whole story. Music posts don't get mass upvoted the way memes do lol.

[email protected] has crept up slowly in subscribers and MAUs. There's a core group of us that post there regularly with new people popping in from time to time. Nothing crazy but it's active. What more can you hope for on Lemmy?

[email protected] is in a similar place. The numbers are lower than the pokemon community but there are a couple regulars and some occasional discussions in the comments. This is by far the slowest community but it was always going to be that way without others contributing. I'm looking at options to have bot posts for popular series/events since there is so much going on in racing that it's hard to keep up with all the schedules. At least that way the content would flow in more regularly and potentially bring in more people and discussion.

I hope everyone was successful in relocating their communities during the shutdown of lemm.ee. Hopefully it brings some new exposure to communities that will quickly build them back even better than before. Best of luck to everyone trying to build something special on Lemmy. Your efforts are appreciated. 💚

I wish [email protected] and [email protected] got a bit more activity, but considering the size of the Fediverse and the relative obscurity of the subject, I think that's expected.

I kind of gave up [email protected] though. Nowadays the comm feels kind of pointless.

I'm also wondering if I should create a comm about something else. The problem is that I'm more of a commenter than a poster, so I struggle to nurture my comm's initial activity.

Also more of a commenter than a poster. Making myself post, but I really feel all my posts are way less high-quality than my comments usually are.

[email protected] is mostly humming along. When there are small deviations from the rules I am trying to message OP thanking them and suggesting little corrections. Generally it's received pretty well. It's a little more work but it seems healthier.

Window Managers, we just reached 200 subscribers but I am happy with it.
