The Long Dark is a first-person survival video game developed and published by Hinterland Studio. The player assumes the role of a plane crash survivor who must survive the frigid Canadian wilderness after a global disaster disables all electronics. Welcome to our community!

Banner alt-text: Stone Church in Desolation Point, during an aurora. The moon hovers large, low in the sky. A fire crackles under the ruined wall of the church. The displayed health bar is distressingly low.

Couple of highlights that jumped out for me:

  • Fixed an issue where Bearskin Coats only required 1 hide to craft instead of the intended 2.
  • Added an option to consume Water directly from the vessel used to boil it.
  • Added further detail to Bleak Inlet's in-game map.
  • Fixed an issue that could result in a ruined food item incorrectly remaining at 1% condition.

This is probably why I'm able to cook "ruined" coffee lately. So that's probably fixed.

  • Fixed a lighting issue in the Community Hall which caused three spotlight effects.

I abused this one a few times, it made it easier to find stuff :)

Not to be ungrateful, but this seems more like a bugfix update than a QoL update. I was hoping for more UI changes and maybe some smoothing over of game mechanics' sharp edges. Like being able to drag meat onto a pan/pot would be a nice QoL change.

These are almost entirely bugfixes.

Did this patch get released in Switch as well?
