The patriots success was never because of Belichick. It was all due to Tom Brady. Before Brady, Belichick never did anything significant as a head coach. Since Belichick wasn’t that good it stands to reason his assists weren’t much to speak of as well.

Because none of them can recreate his defense. The closest you have to it is Vrabel which makes sense because as a former linebacker he should be familiar with most of the defensive schemes.

I feel like Bill Belichick made a system that can't change. The cogs are not conducive to replacement and the system itself to any form of modification. Like Josh McDaniel is a garbage HC and there's kind of room to suggest a bad person, but I wonder if it's a coincidence that Mac Jones only even slightly good year (and the last year the offense was good in general) was when he was OC.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because McDaniels is a loser down to his soul.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because it’s the Bill Belichik won with Brady coaching tree. They don’t have Brady.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because he cheats…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

cause Brady was the actual OC.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Tom fuckin Brady made a lot of coaches a lot of money that they didn’t earn.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

No Tom Brady this is the reason.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because it wasn't Tom Brady's job to coach them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Tom Brady wasn’t cloned as part of the package

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Could it be that winning in the NFL requires a combination of talent AND coaching?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

It's kind of hard to be successful without cheating.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because he's just not that good of a coach, he's a phony

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

The Patriots success wasn’t Bill Belichick, it was Tom Brady. Look at Bill without Tom both pre and post. Trash. Look at Tom without Bill. A Super Bowl in his first season on a new team without a pre-season during Covid. What’s wrong with the coaching tree, they don’t have Tom Brady on their new teams either.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because none of the Tree ARE Belichik.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because they were all products of Brady's success and not actually good coaches (they are mediocre coaches that also got elevated by Brady's play).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because much like Bill Belichick now, they don't have Tom Brady.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

cuz they don't have Brady

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I think BB has a unique adaptation technique/style that's hard to teach. This is coming from a Falcons fan, we shall never forget that day.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because he’s nothing special - just a cheat.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Bellichek himself is an all time fraud. Brady carried this guys legacy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Cuz Flores is an arrogant know it all prick......alledgedly

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because it was always Brady.

Take out Bill's record with Brady, and he's basically Matt Patricia.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

What goes up must come back down

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because nobody else had TB12 making them look better than they were?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because most tried to replicate the “Patriots Way” without Tom Brady. It didn’t work for them, like it doesn’t work for BB.

Playing not to lose/conservative, trying to add as many JAGs as possible that are your type of player, and trying to be an emotionless spartan douche only works when the whole undertaking is supported by the players.

Having an unbelievable QB that will cover up pretty much all your mistakes on offense, give time to your defense, and take all your BS and belittling to set the tone is rare.

All all the things Brady did for BB, at the end, BB didn’t even want to give him just a two-year guaranteed contract. And the last few years, every contract was incentive-based.

All the BB apologists can’t be mad if Kraft finally treats BB the same way he treated most Patriots legends, including the greatest football player of all time:

  • Teddy
  • Law
  • Wilfork
  • Mankins
  • Gronk
  • Wes
  • Moss
  • Brady

Not to me ruin players like: Ninko, Jamie Collins, etc.

Hell, we almost lost Hightower and DMac because of his BS…

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Short answer: McDaniels was OC to the GOAT and Patricia was DC to a defensive coach

They were both fraudulent assholes

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because Tom Brady

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

He doesn't let them know the secret of his success.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because Bill took his defense and team culture very serious and Brady took the offense and culture very serious. When you have the QB and HC on same page and both produce, people fall in line or fall by the wayside. And a lot of the guys he made who weren’t successful in other places knew if they followed, that was there chance.

McDaniels and Patricia never had that, PLUS, McDaniels just tried to be Bill but everyone sees through his veil

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

The limbs on this tree don’t have Tom Brady.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because they can’t take Tom Brady with them

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Sometimes former players just don't pan out as decent coaches...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I'm guessing because just like his players, he finds the best scheme fits and knows how to get the most out of his players and coaches in the past. Having josh McDaniels for almost all of those Brady years meant that he wasn't constantly losing OCs to HC jobs. Coaching is all about finding the right ppl to mesh with the right players you wanna have around your program. I think he finds good coordinators, but when they try to make the jump to HC it never works. Everyone knows about the Brian Flores Miami situation, but he's now gone to the Vikings as a DC and has turned around their defense. I think Bill creates a lot of positive bias towards people that work for him, And like a lot of players, he does a good job at playing to strengths and hiding weaknesses

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Reminds me of the Brian Billick coaching tree. I guess slightly more successful since Marvin Lewis lasted forever in Cincinnati.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

How many coaching trees have really been all that great?

The only coaching tree that really worked was Bill Walsh.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because he was completely protected by Tom Brady for 20 years. Outside of him, he’s a below average coach. Facts is facts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because there is only one Tom Brady

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

He’s extremely smart and also an asshole. His assistants are not particularly smart so the only part they can replicate is being an asshole.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

It’s very much a rarity for a guy to be cut out to be a head coach. I don’t wanna debate the talent level of these coaching trees but bottom line is being a head coach is a totally different beast than being a coordinator or positions coach. We take the good/great ones for granted.

Also situations/rosters matter a ton in football.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because none of them chumps had Brady ☠️

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Coaching trees are dumb af IMO

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

It was never bill. It was Tom. It's beyond clear now.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

No Tom Brady

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Because he doesn't teach his coaches anything. It's the Patriot Way: you show up and do your job. He expects everyone to already know what they're doing. Coaches like Andy though, he coaches his staff just as much as his players throughout the season.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

The people who leave don’t get Tom Brady
