I believe this subreddit has some context in the community info for this subreddit. Documentaries, highlight plays, season recaps. It was a good tool to use when I joined ship years ago.
You just need to know, at least were not the chargers.

The last time we won a title, many people here weren't alive, or weren't old enough to remember (1984)
The last time we were relevant, many people here weren't adults yet, and there are probably some that weren't even born yet (2002)
Since then we've been a bottom tier franchise with only a handful of short blips of hope during that time
And yet we're still here 💀
Hell yeah brother. RNFL doesn't mean "Raider Nation as long as we are winning" like the Whiner and Queefs bandwagoners . Good, bad, sometimes REALLY bad...doesn't matter. There is no other team once you join the squad.
Our history is a bunch of crazy ass dudes that were seen as the bad guys of the NFL and we love it!!! The fans are the most hardcore fans you’ll find in sports. We were historic and the winningest franchise until it all fell apart in 2003. It’s been a struggle since then, but RAIDER NATION FOR LIFE!!!

Get used to bad coaching and gm decisions. I’ve been s fan since the late 70’s. The best thing that can happen for the Raiders is the current owner selling the team.

I assume you go to Vegas a lot or live in Vegas….. but the quickest way to fit in is when a Raider fan yells RAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIDDDDDDEEEEERRRSS you gotta yell it back!! No exceptions, it don’t matter if it’s only the 2 of you yelling…. Pretty simple 😂 but just watch some Al Davis stuff, some Black Hole stuff, Some OakCo and LA coliseum stuff, and some John Madden stuff to get yourself started and you’ll find yourself knowing more and more the further you go into the rabbit hole

I would add to all of these, once you're a fan for a year or two you will stop being a fan of NFL organization and all the other teams. I'm not saying you'll start hating them all, but I'm not saying you won't either.
The main thing to know is that the owner is a trust fund baby who knows nothing about football, flies to Chico for that heinous bowl haircut, and betrayed the entire Bay Area to gain respect from the racist, piece of crap cadre of billionaire NFL owners who don’t care about their fans or their players—only money.
And the opening bars of AC/DC’s “hells bells” should make the hair stand up on the back of your neck and bestow upon you a feeling of game-long false hope. Or should I say season-long?

You can't understand the modern Raiders without understanding where the modern Raiders started. Learn about Jon Gruden's first stint.

You should watch a documentary that came out around 2004 called "Silver and Black Mystique: The Complete History of the Oakland Raiders" Raiders documentary
It has a lot of good stuff in it.
No rooting even slightly for the Broncos,chiefs,chargers,steelers,patriots,49ers, cowboys,packers,bills(they talk alot for a bunch of losers),bengals(never won shit and talk alot.)That should just about cover it. Also remember guys like plunkett,woodson,stabler,gannon,tim brown,willie brown,marcus allen,bo jackson,lester hayes.
Unstable franchise
There is only ONE Nation and it's Raider Nation. The Sox, Steelers, Patriots, etc. are pretenders.
We hate the Broncos, Chiefs, Steelers, Patriots and Chargers in that order.
Once a Raider, always a Raider doesn't count for Moss, Sapp or McDaniels but it does for you. Once you're in, you're in for life!
Also, it was a fumble.
You must grow a bristling black mustache… or like most of the fan base, just have one in spirit.
Raiders are a poverty franchise full of the uneducated and ignorant their players are borderline convicts and the fanbase is some of the dumbest motherfuckers walking the earth. Great choice!
Highly recommend you read “Badasses” by Peter Richmond. It evokes the aura and mystique that is Raider Nation by introducing the early formative figures and the many events that shaped the team.
Raiders lose a lot so get used to it… only the real Raider Nation sticks around!!
