Shaq just got cut by the Colts. Could be a huge addition to the already solid playing LB unit. We’re 14th on waiver priority and his contract burden is pretty hefty.

His contract makes it unlikely that he will be picked up on waivers. Once an FA, I’d expect him to select a contender.

I mean we let Smith play the other week, I’d take a washed Leonard any day that it’s needed. As long as deablo, Spillane, and masterson are healthy they should always get the first nod, but our depth at lb is weak since week 1

Saw him play against the Patriots, my dude was looking awful. Whiffing on tackle after tackle, one of the worst LBs in the league now because of his injury but I hope he recovers soon.

As a man with a back injury I’d say no he’s useless

already solid playing LB unit

Then why add him lmfao.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No, we don't need that.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

We need him

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

No. Have you seen him play recently?
He's not the same guy since his back injury.

too many neck/back surgeries. sadly I think his injuries have robbed him of his explosiveness.

What’s up with you guys and names. Someone mentioned Suh the other day as well. There is a reason these guys are free agents.

how bout no

This isn't madden

Absolutely not worth his contract. Jump over to colts boards, dude is disgruntled about his diminished role on defense and losing playing time and has been toxic in the locker room. He's lost a step and had an injury riddled 2022.

If he's available in free agency sure, but ain't about to take on that contract

A change of scenery might do him good, but that price ain't right

Colts fans are saying he's washed at this point. No. Just no.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Whoever takes him is on the hook for $6 million. No thanks

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Literally damaged goods. Bad back. No way we pay that $$$. It’s actually quite the sea change that our most pressing issue isn’t defense.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Two serious back surgeries recently. If he's got some juice left, why not give a squeeze?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Wow what a disappointing turn for Leonard. He went from a top-3 LB to washed in one season.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Colts fans say he lost more than 3 steps so probably not worth it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe if he clears waivers but you do not want that contract

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Too many consecutive injuries and missed time for multiple COVID’s. He’s washed.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Man…do some homework first.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, let’s give him a contract like Chandler Jones. What could go wrong?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

He's owed 6 million. Spillane and Delablo are playing well. It's not happening

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I knew this would be posted here as soon as I saw the news. God our fanbase loves washed up names.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Look at all the reports about him. I wouldn’t be super hyped to get him. 50% snaps played, is still not right after a surgery, problems with the coaching staff and not to mention the contract. If he was the guy 3 years ago I’d love it but now I’d be nervous. If he clears waivers I’d be interested for a buy low tho.

According to this tweet from Field Yates he is under contract through to 2026.

Remainder of 2023: $6.11m; 2024: $16.1m; 2025: $19m; 2026: $19.6m.

That’s a lot of money to spend on someone who has had some injury problems for the last 18 months.

He has a $6.5 injury guaranteed for 2024 along with cap hits of $16.1, $19 and $19.6 million...I don't envision anyone claiming him. He was an All Pro Linebacker for 4 years, but after suffering a back injury last season, a lot of folks say he lost a step and for whatever reason, Colts weren't playing him. Regardless, he should clear waivers and then be able to sign anywhere. AP would love a LB of his caliber, but there are a lot of contending teams who could use a LB.
