Still need a QB. And an oline. We’re not a piece or two away from being elite. But the NFL is set up to where you can get in the dance despite that because of schedule and the amount of mediocrity in the middle.
I agree, simply because I said this after we drafted him. Hes a low ceiling/high floor player. Already 25 years old, not going to magically acquire new found mobility but smart enough to give you a chance in a pinch. Take away the Giants game, which was set up by multiple turnovers…he’s scored 17, 16, and 13 points in his three starts. 15.3 ppg has been in line with who we are. I think he can be solid…he’s never going to be elite
It was always about the fact that 49ers fans were douchebags of the highest order. I took a certain pride in watching them lose when it counted. Also, doesn't help that Montana took a title and about $3.5 million in endorsements (in early 1989 $$$) away from my uncle, Ickey Woods.
Low risk signing...if he's a knucklehead, he's gone. If he shows anything like he did last year, he might be the best corner on the team.

Said this when he was drafted. Definition of JAG at Bama…benefiting solely from the work of superior players. We’ve got to stop drafting the least productive players at these big schools. The Conley’s, Arnette’s, Mullen, Muse, and now Young types. Get guys who were the guy, even from less pedigree schools.
