Wordpress as a framework is kinda federated, you can host your own server if you want to.

You can look into wysiwyg website editors, self hosting a website with aws and s3 is wicked cheap, and other providers like netlify are also inexpensive to a lesser degree.

A stubborn skill grinder in a time loop, royal road/kindle unlimited

I love time loop progression fantasy, ever since mother of learning I can't get enough of the sub genre

Definitely self inflicted, possibly physician assisted, family has a history of degenerative neural diseases and I'm not gonna go out that way

Yelling at a rock won't change it into a rocking chair, neither does yelling at a rock change you a rock.

Behavior and nature are separate, it's dumb to argue with idiots, but acting like an idiot once doesn't make you one (necessarily)

I wonder if Confucius was really just a shit poster before the internet

"Slams" is tired, how about a more creative verb, perhaps "Malasia elbow dives off the top rope" or something

This is a shitpost, but your response is clearly taking it seriously, so I'm responding in kind. Your response is an appeal to tradition, a logical fallacy and not a valid defense of anyone's behavior.

The dnc has made many mistakes, any single good decision they've made isn't an honest defense of current poor actions.

They should not have railroaded bernie, they failed to present a valid narrative and lost to djt twice? Wtf

Oh like all of the material of your body was food, at first I thought you just had really bad grammar and meant "all of you" meaning allb of us readers or something and all the comments were just keeping up the bit

My experience is every person in the US who enters the workforce and gets their first paycheck is always surprised. Since here in the us salary is given in pretax dollars, you never get the amount you'd expect for your first one.

Otherwise, some complain scout sales tax in the us for a similar reason, especially going from a state with none to a state with a high rate

I could always use a custom agent, but the extra features in chatgpt are nice. Why does it have to act like a third rate lackey trying to get on their boss's good side?

A few friends got emails today about Mass General moving forward with layoffs this week. Anyone you know affected already?

Artificial Superintelligence, AI systems that are more intelligent than humans across every domain, may or may not be coming soon

What could we do to prepare now for a future where it has arrived?

I have been considering:

  • starting local community groups
  • updating my investment strategies to be more resilient to market disruption
  • diversifying personal income streams
  • staying up to date with the latest news and learn to better use the latest tools/technology
  • upgrading personal skills towards the harder to replace industries

It's a bit difficult to imagine a truly "safe" way of life. Barring UBI and more progressive taxes it seems like it may be quite challenging for the average person to exist comfortably.

Some industries that are already impacted at the level of technology we already have

  • programming
  • ui design
  • creative writing
  • technical writing
  • customer support
  • graphic art
  • data analysis

I think almost every other industry is at risk of significant disruption. A capitalism based society will always stray toward the cheapest option, "if AI can take customer support calls for $1/day and customer satisfaction doesn't dip, why would I pay a person $150/day?"

I wonder if there's anyone out there who can't see their nose at all?
