Yeah it's not easy to wait honestly. Trying to find other shows but a lot of the other stuff is dogshit. :)

I think season 2 is probably not as good as season 1 too, it's impossible.

Open weight? You mean open source, or is there a new term.

Cars harm the environment but they are literally essential for society to function.

You take the good with the bad.

Only America can steal data appearently. Everyone else is a terrorist.

Path of Exile 2. I really like that feeling of progress. No other game has that feeling of not wanting to stop playing because you want to see what happens when you get the next skill or weapon or armor.

Nothing... I like replacing things and I'm not attached to things at all.

If anything, I like the feeling of buying new things to replace old ones, just for some minor feeling of change.

I can only speak for myself but I didn't like it because it felt like the same experience over and over. I admit I haven't played since launch, but back then, i quickly realized all the planets had the same minerals. They had different randomized animals and colour's but they were generally just the same. And then I lost interest, because I was hoping to be able to find rare minerals, unique items, stuff that wouldn't exist in other parts of the universe, and perhaps he able to trade it with other players or npcs.

I guess I wanted a different game than what the makers wanted.

Looking at the video now, it still looks like the same basic experience with improved graphics.

Seems to actually be some press about it too, I was surprised to see Bbc, Reuters and new york post write about it.

But yeah, it's very interesting what they have made here.

This should be its own post. Very interesting. People are not aware of this I think.

This war is about control, not by weapons but by controlling minds. It's fairly obvious. Social media forms opinions. It's also full of bubbles where people get reinforcement for their existing beliefs. What people believe doesn't matter so much, just that their beliefs are shaped by social media.

Social media platforms are controlled by big tech algorithms, so they in turn control what information should surface. On computers and phones, you have survellience apps running (called AI) that collects information about each users private life. This is all combined with other info to build an accurate profile of everyone having a device using social media or the web.

The end goal is to watch everyone, keep them in line. In the west I think it's mostly used to sell ads, but in other countries like China and Russia, I think it's more sinister.

Either way, the end goal is control of people. Before, it was control of land and borders.

I would add more charisma points and remove some intelligence points. Makes for a happier life!

Or it's important to the media companies to not alienate Microsoft because of reasons.

I mean, it's very strange. Open Ai is the obvious loser on this, not Facebook. Obviously Microsoft doesn't want the press reminding people of alternatives to the big tech models.

They See Your Photos (theyseeyourphotos.com)

Shows all the information Google gets from just one photograph, using Ai.

This is not dystopian at all, is it? Humans sleeping in pods. I guess it beats homelessness but this seems like a fail on epical levels (unless profits for these pod companies are what we care about).

New thunderbird available for android now. :)

It. Is. Never. Enough.

You paid hundreds of dollars for a new monitor, but it doesn't matter. More ads, more profits.

I hate it.

Alien Romulus (lemmy.today)

I just watched alien romulus and I thought it was really frustrating. What happened to the lethal face huggers and the older, experienced crew of spaceships that got paid like shit by the company?

Now they are hitting face huggers left and right with sticks, and people just get up after having one over their face.

I didn't feel like I cared about the characters. They were actually quite unlikeable. I really miss Ripley. She had enormous amount of character, strength and intelligence. What did we get in this movie? They are all super generic.

Just disappointed. How about you guys?

I guess it's just a matter of time before you subscribe to games, and you lose access when you stop paying.

Kagi Snaps (help.kagi.com)

This is not revolutionary but it saves some keystrokes when wanting to limit results to certain sites.

Personally I don't really limit anything with Kagi. It's usually just finding what I want without having to do anything.

I wish I was a billion dollar company who gets away with stuff like this. Just generally break people's systems, add spyware, lie to users, treat them like shit.

All while making even more money and my stocks keep on going up, because AI, Ai, Ai...

The bike knows my height and weight and that's about it. From that it can calculate how my body burns calories?

Every body is very different, so I don't see how any calculation can be accurate.

I can't express how much I love hetzner doing this. There is a huge market for people who just need some instances and reliable/cheap object storage to run their apps.

If you have money, you can pay the bail and get released, while poor people can't.

I don't see why people with money should get benefits in the legal system?

Is gen z intentionally refusing to change their behavior for work, or what is the reason for this?

Kind of think it's cool that they remain themselves.
