The long arm of Ukraine just got longer, sanctions/economic stress cutting into maintenance budgets, or just ordinary Russian safety standards?

MacOS, with its need for a pointing device and its exposed filesystem? I call bullshit.
Either it’ll run macOS as it currently is and be a usability catastrophe, they’ll nerf macOS to the point where desktop power users stop being able to do with it what they need, or they’ll make a new “macOS” for phones, which is essentially what iOS is. (And yes, they could unlock iOS further by letting users browse their filesystems or sideload apps or whatever, but if it runs primarily on a phone-like device, it’d still make more sense to call it iOS than macOS.)
Any joy the little people still have in their lives is potential profits left on the table
Do they believe that, somewhere, there is still a dole like the one punk rock was built on in the 70s, or have romantic visions of sleeping under the stars and making enough coin begging/busking to buy the odd kebab? Or are these people who have generational wealth they can tap into, making unemployment into a sabbatical of sorts?
Any ranking Democrat would be far too committed to trying to manifest norms by acting as if they were still in force to even consider such an action.
Belarus did this a few years ago with a flight from somewhere else to Lithuania that was carrying a Belarusian dissident. The few minutes it spent in Belarusian airspace was enough for the air force to intercept it, force it to land and arrest the dissident.
IIRC, there was a huge outrage, which didn’t help the dissident (rogue states gonna go rogue and all that), but since then, no EU/western flights have overflown Belarus.
They should also ban all forms of sovereign citizenry: all mentions of gold fringes on flags, admiralty law meaning that you’re legally a boat and don’t have to pay taxes/child support, weird ways of writing one’s name to get out of being bound by laws, and so on.
If Australia needs a homegrown culture war to keep the cookers busy, they could always revive Wind Turbine Syndrome, an entirely locally made psychosomatic culture-bound syndrome that only affects rusted-on conservaboomers like some kind of dinky-di reverse fan death.
10 years of being GenX:
year 1: monochromatic primary-coloured graphics on a ZX Spectrum/chunky sprites on a Commodore 64/dying of dysentery and NTSC colour fringing on an Apple II
year 10: 4096-colour 3D graphics and digitised sound on an Amiga/playing Microsoft Flight Simulator on a 1024x768 multisync monitor
When the oligarchs bought land in NZ and built their apocalypse bunkers, you didn’t really think they’d let the country remain a social democracy around them, did you?
Renationalising the railways is the main one that comes to mind.
Where else are they going to put the huge, gilded statue of Trump?
