This definitely looks better than the AlphaSmarts, but yeah it’s a bit pricey.

Oh yeah, I stopped once my inventory was maxed in both games. I honestly wish the korok mask was just part of the sheikah sensor. It was annoying keeping that thing on all game.

I think I sank 300 into each. Took me a whole year to play them

ALttP is probably the Zelda I’ve replayed the most throughout my life.

I really wish the ground based zonia vehicles were useful underground, 30s in and you run into a cliff and need to abandon your vehicle. I ended up exploring most of the game by foot. I do honestly think shrinking the map by 50% to being everything closer would have made the game more enjoyable.

  1. North Hyrule Field - Castle -
  2. South Hyrule Field - Move Hateno Here
  3. Hyrule Ridge - move Tarry Town here
  4. Tabantha Frontier - Rito Village - merge the region. Not much goes on here

  8. ~~East Neculda - Lurelin + Hateno~~
  9. Lanaryu Great Spring - Zora
  10. Lanayru Wetlands - Potentially removable, but sort of serves as a tutorial area

  13. Eldin - Goron Village
  14. ~~Akkala - nothing~~
  15. Gerudo Desert - Gerudo Village/Yiga
  16. ~~Gerudo Highlands - Nothing here - move the statues elsewhere, we don’t need a third cold region.~~
  17. Great Hyrule Forest - Korks

I remember it feeling a game where I wanted to find all the secrets vs it feeling like a chore in some. I really need to replay it.

I 100%ed Link’s Awakening and a Link Between Worlds. I did not for Botw or Totk.

I didn’t know that, could be the case. I just assumed it was the same people that drive around with their windows down blasting music. It’s likely the same crowd that is being described by OP.

I am almost done with Echoes of Wisdom and thought the map was the perfect size for the game. I always felt like Breath of the Wild’s map was too large for what was offered. Tears of the Kingdom kind of made that worse by doubling the map underneath and having it mostly be empty.

I have one that bothers me more. There are people who park their cars in front of random houses at night, I assume it’s delivery people or ubers taking a break. They will have their phones connected to their cars; speakers at max. I can hear their whole conversations while I am trying to fall asleep. Happens about once a month where I live.

The fact that a concept that now seems so integral to the series, being conceived of towards the end boggles the mind. Kind of how Golden Eye multiplayer was one of the last random ideas to go into the game.

[Pokémon] The origin of the grass type

This is from a few years ago, but I just stumbled upon it. It was a very fascinating read on the development of Pokémon and their different types. The changes that happen during a game’s development are really interesting.

For me it’s Lucario. I always loved his composed and calm nature, and then he got a Mega Evolution and that solidified it. Ironically when playing Smash I used Pikachu instead of Lucario.

I’ve tried two emails to register on pixelfed.art. I picked this because it’s a smaller instance and I will generally be posting just art. Has anyone else had issues being accepted to a smaller instance? They seem to do it manually and it’s been two weeks.

A bit earlier than the typical time frame of the general things we post, but I feel like this still captures the feel.

From @Retromotive on Instagram

It's 1955, Italy is trying to find its feet after the war, and Bianchi, the bicycle brand, decides it wants to make cars again. But they don't just go at it alone— they team up with the likes of Fiat and Pirelli. The result? Autobianchi. The company that tried to blend engineering genius, design flair, and a bit of cheeky Italian spirit into a single, tiny vehicle.

Fast forward to 1969, and out pops the Autobianchi A112 Giovani-a car that was as light as a feather, funky as a beach party, and just one letter shy of being called Giovanni. Designed by Pininfarina and powered by an Abarth engine, this 'youth' car was a curious concoction of plastic bumpers, boat-like seats, and a style that screamed, "I'm here for a good time, not a long time!"

And then... it vanished! Poof! No production, no legacy-just one prototype gathering dust in a private collection. Why? Who knows! Maybe it was too radical for its own good, or maybe Italians just thought they'd outgrown their beach buggy days.

Both Four Swords are still one of the few games I have not been able to play yet. Japanese commercials also seem to be more fun than a lot of the US we started getting around this time.

General question relating to this game that came to mind, that maybe someone can help me with

Tap for spoilerIs Echoes of Wisdom the first time the golden goddesses speak directly to the player? I know “something” speaks to you at the statues in the recent games, but we’re not sure who or what. So is this the first time they identify themselves directly? I know on Reddit there was a bit discussion on whether or not they even existed, because we only knew about them through myth. Hylia was the closest before that I can remember in terms of proof they exited, because I believe she mentioned them or hinted at it.

Currently playing through echoes of wisdom and I find myself always having 5 crows flying around to get me extra money. I was wondering what echoes people here always had around them while they played the game?
