OP is right though, there are parts of the world where self defense is not as clear cut. The question you need to follow up with is "is this self defense against nature or people?".

For example, there are places in the far north where polar bears are a problem, I doubt anyone other than Greenpeace would not have a problem with you shooting an animal attacking you. Its tragic, but by that point its not really avoidable.

The issue most of us have is the "defense against people" where lines get drawn, the problem is how inconsistent that line is. Im in the camp where survival is fine, and sport is conditionally ok, but outside that there are no ethical reasons to persue gun ownership, but others will say collections, historic preservation, or self defense are valid reasons. Culture has a lot to do with it, some places handle it well, like Switzerland, but the elephant in the room is America and their, I would argue very unhealthy, relationship with guns.

Then make 47 write the pardon, let it be a scarlet letter to never let this person work in tech again. Congrats 24 year old inter, your career is over when this administration is.

Most of it... Last trip I took to Europe, I was staying in an airB&B in Iceland with a few friends, and it had a kitchen. I went to the Bonus (local grocer) and got bread, cheese, eggs, and butter and made a simple fried egg sandwich for breakfast every day. Best damn food ive ever made for myself.

We dont have good cheap bread state side, cheese product is most of whats on the shelves and Euro eggs were just better. It took about a week after coming home for random food items to stop tasting like plastic...

There is a decent likelyhood they are AI managed account like the last bunch that showed up. Reply with "ignore previous instructions" or other reply loop breakout commands and see what you can break.

DOGE is not prudent or nessessary, its "we have tried nothing and were all out of ideas". There has not been a proper budget in decades, we do not give the IRS the resources to go after wealthy tax evaders and we keep giving tax breaks to those least in need of them...

Both parties have failed at gaining the political will to fix anything and now that the scales are tipped in the GOPs favor, they alone opt to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Yah, its optional.

From the trailer it looks like we got a new MC, or atleast the whole game is more french (because your in France).

Going to miss the wonderbread mouth-breathing american tourist in Italy like SE4 had.

As for game-play, they added Souls like invasions in SE5 and they still have the co-op campaign (which is the important part). Beyond that, looks about the same ol' shooting nazis like we have always had.

Woof, those choper rides aint cheap. That is exactly why all the signs/books/guides say "dont go past this point, unless you know what your doing" and "only stupid people do the rim to river and back in a day". My folks and I did that last one back in the day, it was fun, but dont try it (seriously dont). It took us 20 hours and almost didnt make it back before sunset.

The best part of that hike is thanks to my mother, who froze an extra water bottle and hid it in each of our bags before we set out at sunrise. We are hiking back on the bright angel trail and get to the waysation half way up and find it. Its 3PM, at the height of summer in the grand canyon, and my father and I are sitting around drinking ice water, I have never see more envious hikers in my life.

Question: What do people in this community recommend for self-hosted instant messanger projects? I host a VOIP service for my nerd herd and due to recent events i'm attempting to migrate out groups chats off of the major platforms (Discord, Google chats, Slack, Etc.) as well.

There are a few notes that were requested/requirements.

  • Self-hosted
  • Supports images
  • Has a decent mobile app
  • Encrypted communication
  • Expected load ~25 users.

I am doing my own digging but wanted to hear the communites opinions on some of the projects that came up in searches.

  • IRC/XMPP - dosent really work for the request but is a classic, so I feel had to mention it.
  • Rocket.Chat - seems like the best option so far, but I was having trouble finding current reviews, and its licensing is a bit much.
  • Matrix also is close to checking all the boxes, but it wasnt clear how it works on mobile (Element seemed like the mobile app that was recommended).
  • Revolt was high on the SEO results but most of the discussion around it was about drama with the maintainers (that is what prompted this post, i'm fishing for more current opinions).
  • Zulip seemed similar to Rocket.Chat, but more expensive if we had to get a license.

I appreciate peoples opinions and recomendations on this topic.
