Then that's where the issue comes from. I guess you might open an issue on the Lemmy GitHub so that crossposts are grouped in the Top views too rather than separated by their own upvote scores

Copy paste the Fediverse URL of a few posts of that community to the search bar of frozen inferno

The search function should "fetch them"

For federation monitoring, not sure, a few instance have dashboards in their sidebars

Not worth it, we had that conversation several times already

Also, it wasn’t exactly just leftists, but also my leftist friends who were always asking for “friend prices” when I drove them around when I drove a taxi. Like… you guys are getting special service, and I’m your friend, you get to skip the hour of waiting and fighting other drunks in the taxi queue.

Seems like bad friends, whatever the political preferences are

That’s weird, because that’s exactly from where I’m coming from, I’m always using the lemm.ee website directly on all my devices, and I constantly see duplicate posts.

I was thinking about what you were saying yesterday and I had another look.

  • on the subscribed feed, using "New Comments", crossposts seem to indeed aggregate
  • on the All feed, using "Top of the Day", crossposts would indeed appear multiple times, depending on their respective scores

You made clear that you

  • only use the Fediverse as a way to create a business for yourself
  • don't care about this platform with its horrible crab mentality
  • think that a 50k community has enough resources to sustain the full time salaries of dozens of developers and sysadmins
  • discredit community building while you complain that people don't come to your communities or instances
  • think that community moderation and building doesn't add value to the platform

Two can play that game

Funny, because as much as I like the platform you're probably the most confrontational person I've ever met here, and that says a lot.

Actually, you're right, I don't have time for this. People will read this conversation and make their own minds.

Rhetorical tricks

I did make my position clear many times, you just don't want to understand it.

I see, thank you for the links

On the other, there are a few communities that can help with some genres

It might be easier to ask recommendations on those specific communities than on a new one

I'm currently using a Nextcloud instance hosted by a volunteer run non profit. 12€ per account per year, I have one for me and my girlfriend.

However, calendar sharing is limited to people on the users on that Nextcloud instance, which is a bit limiting.

Do you have alternatives that allow federated calendar sharing?

https://calendar.online/ seems promising and is German, has anyone used them before?

There is a community in Lemmy but it's been abandoned. I use to run one in Kbin until it died, so I am launching a new one via Mbin. Come kiki and spill the T on your favorite drag shows!
