Mastodon did it to themselves.

There's a reason Bluesky has a UI that's more or less exactly like old Twitter. It makes for a smooth transfer.

That's like the one review site I don't trust, because it's steam users. One of the worst parts of human existence, on a level with 4chan in many regards.

It can be good for a "vibe". Like if something is mostly negative, might be worth looking into. But for an actual review? That's just not what it is.

I mean, I feel it's a misunderstanding of what users actually use social media for.

Just of top of your head, can you list three reasons they want to join the Fediverse for a "normal" Reddit user? Because I struggle to name one, nevermind three. There's all the technical reasons, ethical stuff, etc. But that's all something that enthusiasts would consider, and it goes against how the vast vast majority of users use social media where the more centralized the better as it multiplicatively expands the pool of content and interactions to have everyone centralized.

The Fediverse shows this, in fact! Note how resistant users are to spread over instances, in fact being always after centralizing on the bigger ones. But this isn't a bad thing really, as it's simply the nature of social media. Of course far less necessary on federated stuff, but there's also no reason not to (again, from the perspective of someone wanting to use social media, not advocate).

It's not an easy thing to do to get users here. The place inherently doesn't appeal to those it would need to appeal to.

Also "The establishment" when used in accusations can be replaced by "Rich bastards and right-wingers" and the accusations are usually spot on. Child abuse, sexual assault, market manipulation, bribery, always checks out perfectly.

Are the robbers and thieves now infighting?

NOICE!

It's relatively easy to envision.

Assume each agency (not just the 3-letter ones, any) had X% of fascists and fascist-friendly people. The other 100%-X% will be fired. So just the X% remain.

On the one hand, the agency is now severly crippled as it lacks key personell, and probably the firings aren't evenly spread through departments and key positions, meaning some aspects don't work at all any more (separating air traffic is one, for a simple example), while others still mostly work. On the other hand, all remaining aspects are now 100% fascist in their nature, and will always take the fascist option if one presents itself as anyone who would not do so has been removed.

And saying that is going to piss off a lot of folk.

Who then might not call back at all, so it works out either way!

Personally since chat/messages are now ubiquituous, call implies you need my reply/attention/input now, and/or need the vocal tonal part of communication.

If you call, and it's clear there was neither reason, I'm annoyed. There was no reason to interrupt me, as I'll assume there's an emergency or urgent situation and pick up dropping whatever I'm doing.

There are exceptions of course, but nowadays those (like family get-togethers or check-ins) have honestly moved to group video chats so they're not "calls", either.

I mean to be fair that's a niche event in a niche sports form in one backwards country that can't even get their gov in order. 😛

Jokes aside, it's sad how far these agents/helpers have degraded. From the comparatively glorious Google Now that was black magic and would pull out tickets as you approached the starting point, recommend clothes and gear for weather at your destination and if you wandered around a few seconds told you where you parked your car, to nowadays being some AI slop that hallucinates shit constantly.

The left one is much easier on the eye, tbh.

Didn't the same guy pretend he was going to create a small phone before?

I think compared to something as big as the Switch 2, SteamOS on another niche PC handheld, as important as it is to us consumers, just wouldn't even register.

It's like that EA thing, 50% too few sales on DAVG, but the chickens are running around in a panic over 5% less gacha sales in FC24 instead. 😅

Reminds me of seeing how long it has been (a bit over 4 years) since a good friend of mine was last online in Steam. Died suddenly before christmas. RIP. :'(

From Admiral Cloudberg's air crash series, of course.

On the 19th of May 2016, an Airbus A320 en route from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar at cruising altitude over the Mediterranean Sea, spiraling to its doom from 37,000 feet until it was dashed against the night-black water. What caused the loss of the EgyptAir flight and its 66 occupants should have been uncovered by a straightforward inquiry, but instead, the case quickly evolved into one of the more unnerving and unnecessary mysteries of 21st century aviation. The problem wasn’t that investigators couldn’t find the cause — it was that not all of them seemingly wanted to.

The big highlights:

  • New DoH/DoL quests in Wachumeqimeqi
  • Inconceivably further Hildibrand adventures!
  • New custom deliveries NPC

Chaotic Alliance raids arrives in one week, on the 24th (which is a weird date for new content, I'll be honest).

As we can see, there is a small performance hit with NVIDIA App. However, it’s nowhere close to what has been reported. On our PC system, it’s around 4-6%. And that’s mostly in CPU-bound areas. For instance, in Indiana Jones which is a GPU-bound game with Path Tracing, there isn’t any performance hit at all.

Ridiculous that this was even a discussion.

But don't let her hear I said that, she's 12 and obviously the youngest kitten possible! (she's not tiny, the bed is just oversized)

Not sure how particulary I think about it.

I kinda agree though because, honestly, I genuinely like prodding at RL-issues in my video games, but if the best the writers can do is some MCU-level shit that I would expect in Forspoken or Fortnite, then I really wish they'd not. It just feels like making fun of transgender people with how terrible the scene's dialogue is (there's a video in the article).

Plus, as the update says, they couldn't even be arsed to search through the previous games for whether this was already talked about.

Sigh.

Still, the game is far better than I expected it to be, so this isn't just a rant, but I wish the dialogue in particular had decent writing behind it, it breaks immersion near-constantly even if the general scene and story were done well.

Slowly getting really excited for this. Between the demo and now the scenes showing here, I'm starting to really dig the new visuals, and the voice work in the playable part was fantastic.

More Max! 🏳️‍🌈
