Sadly, neither have I- in the closed source world there’s stuff like Soundslice which is pretty good but nothing really open source

It can, and it’s quite good! But I mean something more like a self hostable archive.

I would really like to see something like Jellyfin/Komga but for sheet music. There’s a software in early development called Sheetable that stores it in PDF format, but I really want to see something that has MusicXML support so that sheets can be played back.

Wow!!!! This is fantastic. I love the way this is drawn.

Aww, this is cute and I like it! I love cool customisation for consoles like this.

My favourite part about this is that Pixelfed has been misreporting stats for years.

Wildly, people still think that about working at Apple, for now. I do see that changing slowly too though.

Good point! I’ve edited my original post to clarify my intention behind bringing up the Patreon.

Overall, the main point I’m trying to make is that the man has a history of chronic project hopping and being hostile to other people who want to contribute to his projects. The goal was not to say that he should be able to fund his entire project via Patreon, but rather that I don’t know he’s the best person to spearhead three fedi platforms at once.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My favourite thing is when you compare that to these earlier posts from him. Apparently you’re not allowed to criticise him unless you’ve made something for the fedi, but also if you HAVE and it involves his projects that’s bad too because he’s the only one who should be doing that.

I personally would love to see a fediverse alternative to something like StumbleUpon, which I always found to be quite unique in the realm of social media.

I also think having something like Spotify with social features powered by the fedi would be neat (I realise technically funkwhale is vaguely this, but in execution it really isn’t. It’s federation is pretty basic/not social). Thinking something where you can easily start listening parties, share music to friends to listen to, find song recommendations from friends likes, etc.

I reaaallllly would urge people not to get involved with this kickstarter. He gave similar lists of things he would do with the money he’s been receiving from his backers on his Patreon for years. He never had enough money from his patreon to do that and the claims should not have been made. (I’ve also noticed how on his posts about the kickstarter he goes out of his way to say his work is “entirely self funded”) Instead he’s been jumping from project to project and has been incredibly awful toward folks who want to help improve the stuff he’s neglected.

Take it as a red flag that he’s still the only dev actively working on three incredibly half baked fedi apps, and if you can, look through his mastodon profile to see the kinds of things he says. Check the GitHub issues for Pixelfed and how long some of the most basic ones have been sitting there for.

I genuinely do hope this kickstarter yields something the Patreon I supported does not, as I still run a Pixelfed instance and like it conceptually. But the software itself has been and only gets more broken, and given the way he has privately treated the pixelfed-glitch team all the while publicly acting like he’s been great to and is actively working with them, I really don’t think this dude is acting in especially good faith.

Edit: Took feedback from a reply and clarified the intention behind my point about his Patreon.

There’s an in-dev app called Relatica for iOS that you can get TestFlight access to. It’s quite good!

Hello, everyone!

I’ve been thinking lately about how I don’t know that many furs that are into musicals, despite the insane amount of artistic talent within the fandom. I thought it might be neat to have a place for likeminded broadway and off-broadway furs to talk to one another so now it exists!!

To start, what are everyone’s favourite musicals?

For me, I have a major soft spot for Into The Woods. Was one of my first musicals as a kid and everytime I come back to it I always find I relate to it in new ways.

A Treasure Trove of Gaming History has been Recovered! Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII and an additional 18 Square Enix i-Mode games, thought lost to history, have resurfaced. This impressive haul includes various Kingdom Hearts titles, and the recovery process involved using a debug cable method devised by the Kahvibreak Discord member XYZ.

Read about the discovery

The incredible efforts of researchers like RockmanCosmo and Twitter user @NaoyaShinota, employing a custom debug cable and Linux scripts, have brought back games such as Final Fantasy 4 After Years, Final Fantasy Legends, and the Kingdom Hearts Card Struggle series.

For enthusiasts, this is an opportunity to revisit these titles on emulators like DoJa SDK. However, some games like Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII still require more work to be made functional.

Have you played any of these Square Enix feature phone games?

Per /u/Harcroft from /r/OriginalXbox:

I’m still plugging away at collecting and distributing original Xbox DLC. Currently we are missing around 300 Title updates and DLC packs.

We’ve made a huge amount of progress this year including:

-building a list of what we know is missing, it can be found over on ConsoleMods.org. (thanks to /u/Derf_Jagged to starting and hosting the page!)

-Milenko has coded Pinecone, a tool to scan through an Xbox file dump to look for lost content and updates

-I’ve built the database file for Pinecone with all known and archived DLC, this information can be access by anyone and be used for any other appliation or tool anyone wants to build

-16 new installers released in 2023 so far, with 2 more pending, waiting on testers

-The first Auto-Update for Halo 2 was found, rewriting known history for Halo 2 online

-The last missing update for Phantasy Star Online: Episode 1 & 2 was found!

-A partial set of Mechassault PAL/Region 4 DLC was found which allowed us to generate a full set of PAL DLC for that title (thanks /u/HoneySoakedSeagull!)

-A partial dump of Advent Rising DLC was found, allowing us to generate a replacement set of the missing 4 DLCs (thanks /u/CasuallyNoted!)

-Ignoring roster updates and duplicate DLCs we got the unique missing DLC list down to just 1 title! Shikigami no Shiro II

-We figured out a way to force the Xbox to load a title update from a different version of a game, paving the way to “spoofed” title updates to maximize compatibility between players on System Link and Xbox Live replacement services (thanks navipar!)

The year isn’t even half up yet and we’ve done so much, I can’t wait to see how much we get done as a community before the end of the year.

Please go out and find Xboxes that had connected to Xbox Live before the hard drives die! For PAL regions we’re badly in need of German and French console dumps. We’re also badly in need of console dumps from Japan and South East Asia.

Thanks for reading!
