I wouldn’t consider something being excluded as a negative, just more like a venn diagram thing. I think anything where you’re are competing on time is a race so that would include rally, time trials or autocross. Drifting, demolition derby, stunting etc would be motorsports but not racing.

I would say the former. Your latter definition also excludes autocross

When you pipe your find output to grep, do you see anything common in your grep searches so that you don’t have to put in each individual item?

Also, if you’re finding only files named .log, you don’t need to grep for .log too.
