I want you to know that I downvoted this post out of love.
For D3, I know some (most?) people would hate it but I absolutely love mindlessly blasting through rifts over and over again while listening to something.
The first time I played it, it was like it did something to my brain. I'd boot up the game and then it would be like 9 hours later I'd snap out of a trance and when I closed my eyes all I saw were belts full of material. Fantastic game.
One thing I clearly remember was walking up the mountain to Bleak Falls Barrow for the first time and the weather changing from clear and sunny to heavy snow and no visibility. That was wild to me at the time.
That was a long read but very good. It pretty much encapsulates how I feel about most things right now. Websites, game/movie/TV franchises, public spaces, even nostalgia itself. They all get squeezed dry until everyone hates them and then they are discarded.
Commander Keen 1: Marooned on Mars. I got it from a demo disc or floppy in a book from the library.
Years of opening threads and all of the top comments are just the same 10 jokes over and over drained the life out of me.
I beat the campaign and the enemy scaling just sucked all the fun out of the game for me. I never felt any stronger and the gear "upgrades" felt like they did nothing.
Oh my god. It's beautiful.
I tried microwaving a steak once just to see what would happen and it was basically a war crime. It tasted like dog food and felt like leather.
