I get what you're saying, but beware of the non-wifi devices that only operate through a proprietary gateway to a cloud-only service.

Facts, by definition, are devoid of context. They don't change depending on who states them! How can you have a reasonable conversation about anything at all if you can't agree on some baseline facts. That's how the fascists operate - everything the orange turd says is a fact, so you can't reason with them.
Edit - maybe you're trying to say we shouldn't go out of our way to acknowledge that some evil piece of garbage made a truthful statement? That I can agree with.
Yes, words have impact. I hope that words like "no more elections" inspire people to action against what is happening. I don't see it as defeatist at all.
I'm tech literate - I've been on the internet since I connected the university I was working at in the early '90s. I was a system/network engineer until around '15. Choosing an instance is a hurdle that can't be overlooked. Now that I'm "in" it seems trivial, but it delayed my joining Lemmy for quite a while. No other social media has it, and it just felt wrong. And now that I've been here for 2 years I still don't understand a lot about how it works - like, if I decide I don't like the instance I'm on now, I assume I'll lose my history of posts and comments if I move? Again, it's probably trivial for me to go find out, but we're just not used to putting any effort into our social media platform. It's a good thing for that to change, but we can't ignore the fact that we are asking people to change when they come here.
The way I read it, the entrepreneur is Bezos - he has his own planes etc. and does not need USPS. You have to buy Chinese stuff from him now. (I have not researched the subject in depth - this is just my take on the headline)
The premiers might have, but I'm not sure all the people have. Just because the stuff is on the shelves doesn't mean we have to buy it. I'll be choosing what I buy very carefully for as long as musk is president. And I've found local alternatives for 3 things I buy regularly (maybe $100/week) that I actually prefer so I'm never going back. I hope I'm not the only one.
I'm in Nova Scotia and only drink Just Us - it's roasted here and both Sobeys and Superstore carry it.
I'm using Jerboa and it wasn't annoying at all - just tapped on the thumbnail in my feed then scrolled down the images - they almost appeared as one long image.
I've seen multiple videos of people walking around interviewing people that voted for him and asking why. Lots of them stated that Biden arming Israel against Gaza was a major concern for them. None of the interviewers dug into what they hoped would change but it was clear they expected Trump to improve the situation for the people of Gaza. Now I've got no idea why they thought that - I certainly never saw anything to make me think that - but lots of people seemed have got that message.
It's not just that he's much worse it's that some people somehow expected him to be better?!?
Well that's a bit disappointing.
I get what you're saying but, as someone observing from outside, stuff like this is all I can do to resist.
