Honestly, I should see if I can get something going; Musk is far from being the only autistic and his hoard of defenders would just be making us all look bad if anyone fucking believed them.

I agree entirely. It's impressive the act of deception that produced a nation so anti-socialist while looking at it's own history it's been the socialist who've done the most for the people.

Yeah, the sadistic ratchet-effect of American politics. D Party moves nanometers in the right direction, R Party moves kilometers in the wrong direction, D Party moves nanometers from the new center, repeat until... well this shite.

I appreciate that you've got some hope for our rotted out system. I don't. The only hope for the future I see is a present in flames.

That being said, while I don't think there's any hope of reform the point I was making was that incrementalism has brought us tRump while bold action, not even revolution, almost a century ago staved off fascism for this long. If I'm mistaken and reform is possible I find it wholly inconceivable that it would be brought by the incrementalists, rather it would come by some stroke of luck that someone like Sanders... probably a bit harsher than him would attain high office and force positive change like FDR did.

I don't think anyone wants the conditions of a revolution or the immediate aftermath thereof but it is a question of how bad would that be in the short-term verses how bad will it be in perpetuity, barring revolution at some later date. As is I couldn't morally justify bringing kids into this apocalyptic hellscape.

The people of Vietnam rebelled against their French overlords with effectively nothing but their chains to begin with and then fought off a superpower to keep their independence. The people of Cuba deposed a fascist tyrant from similar destitution. It's not easy but it's entirely possible no matter how totalitarian the state is.

Honestly, we've had the "little steps in the right direction" off and on for eight decades now. Look where it's gotten us.

  • When was the last time a powerful politician gave a damn about the poor rather than going on about the "middle class"?
  • Where have all our Unions gone?
  • Has the federal government ever done anything even approaching the scale of change needed to address Climate Change?
  • What's happened to our infrastructure?
  • Where has our freedom gone? Has it taken peace with it when it left?

We've already lost everything that could be said for the United States being good, setting aside any claims of greatness entirely, and have lost almost everything that would qualify it as decent. The politicians have realized they can get the votes of some of the people who want change by branding themselves incrementalists and then putting indefinitely many increments between what we have now and meaningful change.

Contrast with history. When has incrementalism ever worked for us? We got the New Deal from one President who knew how to lead. He didn't give us a 1/2*Xth measure of making the American economy work for the workers. No, he got as much as possible then died wanting to do more.

This can/will likely be truthfully said about every tRump appointee. Mango Mussolini should've met the same fate as default Mussolini, not be rewarded with a second time trying to put the nation into a nosedive.

So, exactly what is to be expected from the new Nazis. Wholly unsurprising, however still something that everyone should be aware of.

Why are we assuming there is a why to the universe? Most of us don't look at natural phenomena and truly wonder why. We may use that word erroneously but what is being wondered is "how".

Seconding this; any meaning life has is created by the beings living it.

They're the cult that venerates the rich and famous in a dystopia where money is power. Of course they're powerful. Especially because some of the narcissistic fucks who they venerate have joined up and tithe to the vile organization.

Modern headlights are blinding to anyone not in the vehicle using them. Oncoming headlights if you're in anything shorter than whatever is producing them makes it near-impossible to see the road.

Yeah. My grandmother sent my father to a Catholic school in part for the cult indoctrination... at least she has enough sense to be appalled about that specific school being one of the Catholic facilities involved in their child rape scandals at the time he was attending.

So, now that I've got the Boundary Herald I was considering outfitting it for raiding and seeing if I could make something formidable out of it like my Sentinel Interceptor. For the Interceptor I just used the Sentinel Cannon and the shield-leeching laser... for the Herald, unfortunately, the Sentinel Cannon isn't an option. So what do you use if not that?

I was thinking Positron Ejector and Cyclotron Ballista but it's been a long time since I've re-evaluated my choices so I'd like second opinions.

So, I've reached the Genetic Glitch objective... I'm in the Andalen Osaka system... the one the third gate takes you to.

I've found the light creature on the Planet of Light but hunting for every animal across an entire planetary body has never been my thing. I really don't want to do it for five planets (none of the others stand out as being able to spawn anom animals).

Where's the other anomalous animal and about what does it look like? Is it terrestrial or does it live in air, underground, or water?

Anyone found a way to silence the voices that taunt us frequently throughout the whole expedition?

I'm having a frustrating enough time of it, I don't enjoy NMS' early game, without this additional vexation.

Was just skimming the community and saw the recent Atlas Scepter post and it had me thinking;

I don't know much about multitools beyond there's several categories, put things I like most in the supercharge slots, and higher numbers in relevant stats are better... in other words the very basics.

My multi is primarily a weapon platform then a scanner and mining tool. So, what category of tool should I be looking for and what should I know about them? I do like the Runic Lens on the Atlas Scepter and noticed the Atlantid mutlis have it as well... could I move that onto a different mutli if/when I replace it?

So, I've managed to find an OK location for a base, not sure if I'll actually build it out yet, and rebuilt my freighter base but in the process I've put down a BeatByte Device, found it had ... something on it from the last time I was playing and realized I still don't know anything about music.

It'd be nice to have something playing in my freighter rather than just the ambient sounds from some of the things I've put in it but I remember how well trying to do it by stabbing about in the dark went last time. I'd rather not. So, anyone else not musically inclined? What do you do with the Beatbyte?

Just booted up the game again after a significant time away and figured I'd try doing something new; building a more robust base rather than something that's just practical.

Thing is I'm used to searching only on the basis of practicality. So, how do you find nice locations to build something aesthetically pleasing rather than just fit for purpose?

Hello everyone,

Finally managed to get a modded world stable enough to have a few large machines running and enjoy their use, including an autonomous concrete factory. With that I've built some walls and then realized I don't have any real experience with modern architecture... so I've got a giant white brick surrounding my machines.

Honestly, I'm not used to building on this scale either so I'm not sure how to make this look nice on multiple fronts. One thing I do know though; I don't like glass curtain-walls so I'd rather not do that for this building in spite of it certainly being big enough.

Any ideas?

Hello everyone,

My friends and I would like to play a modded world together now that we've found 'The Essentials' mod which allows us to circumvent our previous issues with multiplayer. However we've had some issues with finding good modpacks. None of us are experts so we've just been trying ones we've found.

We've mostly tried 'Create on a Potato PC Ultimate' and 'Create: Arcane Engineering'. Create on a Potato PC was/is great but we have a minor crashing issue. Arcane Engineering integrates the mod so much it makes trying to primarily work with one frustrating. My friends have also tried Create Chronicals and found it to just be altogether too much.

What we're looking for is a pack with Create (addons desired but not needed) and an in-depth magic mod like Botania or Ars Magica.

Any suggestions?

Besides Viral Damage and status chance, obviously. I've been slowly wringing all the MR out of my favorite primer, my Kuva Nukor, and I've gotten to the point where I'm not sure if my mod selections are quite worth the slot... and I've got plenty of capacity to work with.

This is my current build. To me the point is that it applies max stacks of Viral ASAP, as an added bonus it's Kuva element is Radiation which prevents buffing enemies from doing much of anything. As is unless I'm on SP the Nukor can and will kill most enemies quite efficiently.

So, what do you do with a Viral Primer once it primes Viral with all the gusto is can?

Edit: Taking all the suggestions here's what I've got:

This is looking pretty awesome now.

Just finished building the Hespar and slapped a build from Overframe on it... I didn't use to have a favorite melee weapon beyond what looked nicest strapped to my hip. I didn't really use melee much. Hespar w Galeforce Down is now my favorite. Love the wide swings and quick forward advance letting me carve through hordes with minimal effort.

Might just have to put together a loadout using all my favorite things now since there's enough to fill all slots.

So, a friend of mine and I just went two for two on frustrating experiences:

SP Interception is just frustrating for the two of us. We struggle to clear all the gits from the capture points between their high health and constantly streaming in. In general we can each take and hold a point then potentially hold a third long enough to gain the lead. However, the Acolyte then spawns in and annoys us long enough to lose the lead, mostly through trolling with their abilities.

I have a Kuva Lich and my friend has a Sister of Parvos as our On Call Crewmen but neither of us have put any work into optimizing them, they're both just more-or-less the first thing we spared rather than killed. I also summon Kahl and his support units while my friend calls Ancient Healers (they prefer a different Air Support).

I know my Lich isn't optimal, it uses one of the less impressive Kuva variant guns, the Quartakk, and only has one power that's noticeably helpful: their version of Hollowed Ground. Their SoP Crewman is similarly unimpressive but I don't recall the specifics. Both of us need better help. So, what should we be looking for in terms of the best support for SP missions?

Just killed my current Lich and got the Kuva Nukor, and now I'm wondering how it will compare to the Tenet Cycron for Priming. This is their comparison on the equip screen:

Anyone have experience with both weapons? Which would you say is generally better for the job? Of note: I don't do collision overload and rarely melee in general.
