Imagine a haircut like this instead. It was all the rage in Brazil back in 2002:

Indeed, it can be tricky. I think the "all out war against the freedom of the masses" could be traced back at least to the Colorado Labor Wars. It certainly kicked up a notch once the URSS formed, too.

People still haven't figured how exactly the Incas (or whoever came before them), without access to iron tools, piled up HUGE stones into walls either, so it's more like we, modern folk, really don't give the due credit to ancient folks in certain aspects.

Ukraine too, but Chechnya and Georgia suffered during the 90s, shortly after the URSS collapse and before Putin took power, a "taste of things to come"

Any word on which tools or techniques were "too advanced" and, more importantly, why they were considered so? I understand that the tech that gets developed natively will vary greatly from region to region, but any group that has active trade with outside groups could get access to tools and knowledge they wouldn't have developed themselves.

"Top metaverse creators"

You mean, fuckzuck's metaverse or...?

top Roblox and Fortnite creators

Oh, those. Dunno how stuff is for fortnite creators, but roblox would probably get a much better deal than their current hamster wheel

It's also super ironic that rockstar, who shutdown several GTA mods, is now looking into making their game "the place to make your ~~mods~~ EXPERIENCES"

If you're already dating someone, explaining the situation, or rather, telling your own stories of the kinds of shit you had to deal with, should give them a good picture of the situation and of your character as well. If your date thinks they'd rather not keep in touch with you after that, it may be for the best for both of you.

While I thankfully had a mostly common family, my last ex had a very abusive mother who was extremely rude to her own daughter and would 180 into a flower whenever talking to me. It was an astonishing dichotomy and I always understood why my ex wanted to stay away from her house as much as possible.

Considering what Russia did to some ex soviet states after the end of the soviet union (Chechnya, Georgia), the finns were very right to not trust their eastern neighbor

The extra links in the article are great stuff. I'm very curious about checking out Oberon

  • Unlock bootloader (depending on vendor, you have to do an online verification),
  • flash a recovery.img,
  • load into recovery mode (which, depending on the phone, might need extra work)
  • wipe some caches,
  • select new os/rom image,
  • pray it doesn't brick your phone.

You'd think someone would've learned a thing or two from the easy graphical installations linux and even windows have been offering since the late 2000s.

Basically, it's a game about making and changing rules, much like actual legislative bodies. Each player proposes a new rule and the other players vote to approve it or not.

Who wins? Whoever reaches the victory condition. What's the victory condition? That'll depend on the rules at the time, which might change in the next turn.

Nomic is a game in which changing the rules is a move. In that respect it differs from almost every other game. The primary activity of Nomic is proposing changes in the rules, debating the wisdom of changing them in that way, voting on the changes, deciding what can and cannot be done afterwards, and doing it. Even this core of the game, of course, can be changed.

Not the ideal community (better for open ended questions), but I've been looking for a Droopy cartoon that I vaguely remember from ages ago.

The overall premise is not too different from Tom and Jerry's "The Royal Cat Nap". The gist of it was that Droopy had to guard a nobleman (king?) while he was asleep. Near the end, I distinctly recall Droopy handing dynamite sticks to the villains, the scene cutting to outside the castle with the duo running in and out with ever bigger dynamites, until a really big one blows them away. The scene cuts back to the king, who wakes up and removes the corks from his ears and talks to Droopy.

Thing is, looking at the list of Droopy cartoons, none of them seem to have a premise remotely similar to that. I'm wondering what I'm remembering wrong, whether the main character or what else.

Solved: It was Deputy Droopy. My memory was very wrong on how it actually played out for the most part. Thanks, everyone!

Do you suppose bats that arm wrestle keep saying "no homo" to one another?

And here's a great highlight from the article:

To find out, Fasel et al. perused close to 100 videos depicting serotine bats in flagrante. Four of those videos came from a bat rehab center in Ukraine, but the rest were filmed mating in the attic of a Dutch church by an intrepid citizen scientist.

The bats usually mated for less than 53 minutes on average, although one stud persisted for an impressive 12.7 hours.

Yes, you're looking at ~92% tax right there. Final price jumped from ~113 dollars (584BRL) to ~220 dollars.

EDIT: A bit of clarification, when buying from abroad there's a flat 60% federal tax if the thing + shipping price surpasses 50 dollars. Then there's a state tax that can vary between 17-25%, which goes on top of the total taxed value. Part of the tax is literally "tax of a tax"

And Vaporeon is still the most compatible pokemon when it comes to male human and female pokemon breeding, did you know that?
