Enemies from the future will be scared away by a sign on the door reading “BEWARE OF THE TIGER”.

🤣

Another option might be to use some form of nuclear battery to keep a bunch of multi TB SSDs powered up.

That radiation is gonna flip a lot of bits in the SSDs

It has to be 100 years, becuase the idea of sending a time traveler in the past is conceived in 100 years, so they wouldn't be looking for the data before then.

Once they come up with the idea of the mission to send someone to the past, they also realize: "Hmm what if the mission has already been done?" and so they immediately send a team to search for possible clues on where the data is, if someone alredy went to the past and weren't able to return.

If its gets found in like 99 years, the enemy forces could get their hands on it before your teams starts looking for it.

Basically, in exactly 100 years, the idea of sending someone to the past is thought of, then some time after that, say, in year 120, they finish the time machine. They would be looking for the data in year 100, 20 years before the time machine has even been built. Get it? They would never think of looking for the data before 100 years since they haven't thought about the time machine idea.

Forced Abortion and Forced Births are really two sides of the same coin: The government interfering with people's own decisions about their bodies, something the government have absolutely no rights to interfere with.

Bad Time Traveler 😕

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

You only have yourself on your team.

There could be like anywhere from 1 to 20 enemy time travelers. Don't worry tho, they all die in 1 year (just like you do) due to the constraints of the time travel.

The point is: You can't just publically draw attention to yourself and post the location of the data to make it easier for the future to find it, because I know someone is gonna be like "Just run for elected office and store it in the government archives". I wanna make the question more challenging.

Its one hundred of 1TB MicroSD Cards, better back it up before it gets corrupted! Good luck, time traveler! 😉

Rethink DNS is both a firewall and a VPN

although, it is kinda buggy, my Mullvad VPN wireguard config in Rethink DNS app failed for some reason and it defaulted to passing the traffic through my real ip 🤦‍♂️

~~Socialism~~ Capitalism with ~~Chinese~~ Fascist Characteristics

Characteristics like trying to "terminate" the second-born child in a family against the parent's wishes because "oVErpOPuLAtiON". (It's me btw, I'm the second child in my family)

Well... What happened next?

(Excerpt from Wikipedia:)

Tennessee state law required that the name of a candidate who died before the election be removed from the ballot, and it did not allow the candidate's party to replace a deceased candidate who died within 30 days of the election. Accordingly, after Burks's death, Looper became the only candidate listed on the official ballot for Burks's senate seat.

Several people tried to have Looper's name stricken from the ballot, claiming that Looper's arrest constituted moral turpitude. The state Republican Party distanced itself from Looper. To prevent Looper from winning the state senate seat on a technicality, Burks's widow, Charlotte was put forth as a write-in candidate for her husband's seat. Dozens of volunteers helped her campaign, including some Republicans. On election day, Charlotte Burks, as a write-in candidate, won the seat with 30,252 votes (95.18%) against Looper's 1,531 votes (4.82%). One of her first initiatives as state senator was to introduce legislation to ensure that the name of any candidate who dies within 40 days of an election could remain on the ballot, thus preventing the situation that occurred after her husband's death. Charlotte Burks won re-election in 2002, 2006, and 2010. She retired after the 2014 election.

Yea... I read this and just WTF'ed at this. Imagine if the dude never got caught.

Like why run a campaign if you could just a little crime.

Also, dude was so stupid, could've hired an assassin instead of doing it himself.

(Also, if he were a former president instead, he would've been immune from the criminal prosecution. Rookie mistake.)

Say, some alien just wanted to mess with us, but doesn't invade, or even care enough to want to kill us, but seeing how everyone is on their phone all the time, they decided to just jam all our radios to watch us suffer. Their transmitting power they use is so powerful, its jamming signals are 1000 times stronger than the strongest radios we have, so there's no way we can overpower the jamming.

What does the immediate aftermath look like?

What does it look like in the long term?

(Please don't say "kill the aliens" they have tech so advanced, its impossible to do it)

Not just as in Lemmy, but as in general.

Like, you order on, say, Wednesday, and it says the fastest available time is Saturday, then you pull up the page on Thursday, and it says theres a same-day option for later in the day, and even the free option is now Friday (instead of Saturday). And the funny thing is, you can't even cancel the earlier order, that now has a later delivery time. Wtf is this? Bezos trolling?

(This isn't a "lets trash amazon" post, I just can't understand why companies do this weird shit, I always thought order earlier = arrive faster, this is just... weird)

aka: Burglary of your home, Car break-in, Your bedroom getting searched by someone (Parents/Roomates/Housemates/ or even Burglars), Your Backpack, Personal Electronics/Phone/Computer/etc getting searched, etc. (Including any seaches by law enforcrment / security)

Basically, anything that can be considered "personal space".

Why I ask?

Well... My parent's car has signs of being searched through last night, I think they forgot to close the windows all the way, and some random thief got in and looking for valuables, nothing of value wa taken, but stuff were all over the car, now I hate the idea of getting into that car again (someone might've slept inside the car, blegh 😖). That car feels so "tainted" now.

Like this cant be only my feeling right? Like, you just feel disgusted after someone touch your things against your will (especially if they are strangers).

There's literally an app does let's you wipe your phone for a period of not unlocking your phone (Its called "Wasted" available on Fdroid), so there has to be one that could do a reboot (without the wipe), right? 🤔

(If not, can anyone of you try to make one? I'm kinda jealous of Apple having that feature built in to iPhones. 😓)

Any Generators, Power Banks, Solar Panels, etc...?

Edit: So I'm gonna answer my own question. I'll probably freak out and would have zero generators to deal with it. Heater is Gas, but I don't know if gas would work during power outage. Cooking, well there's a butane burner stove. I have 3 10000mah batteries, but they have 60% efficiency due to power loss during transfer, so its effectively 6000mah, enough to roughly charge my 5000mah battery once, 3 batteries is 3-4 charges. Then I'd be bored with zero entertainment, along with all the food melting and going bad, very not fun 🙃

Just morbid questions. I mean I'm not some CEO, just an averge person. Just wondered how seriously is my death even gonna be investigated. (Or is nobody even gonna care, like how my parents probably won't even care if I died)

Edit: Changed "the government" to "governments"

I mean, people say use end to end encryption, VPN, Tor, Open Source Operating System, but I think one thing missed is the hardware is not really open source, and theres no practical open source alternative for hardware. There's Intel ME, AMD PSP, so there's probably one in phones. How can people be so confident these encryption is gonna stop intelligence agencies?
