Yes human rights tend to have an anti-genocide bias.

Based db0 as always.

He's using windows.

But while we're on the subject, ~/.local/share is cancer and shouldn't exist.

The appropriate path is /usr/share.

I have a SystemD service that will erase anything written to that godforsaken .local folder, and if that breaks your shitty software then I'll assume your shitty software doesn't work and delete it and spam issues about it until you fix it or find a different career doing something productive, like cooking McRibs.

Mistral? Deepseek?

Not LLM but also SD which uses a very popular free dataset.

Lolwut? Public good is self-entitlement? Go read a fucking book. Communists are not pro-copyright, especially not when it only benefits the giant corpos.

Another day, another entitled artoid larping as progressive blocked.

As a socialist I believe intellectual property is a falsehood and technological advancement should be for the public good. Open source LLMs are for the public good.

Given the options between having open source LLMs and the US Govt banning non-corpo non-proprietary LLMs and giving a free pass to people like Musk and Altman and Zucc to monopolize, I happily pick the former.

You're delusional if you think they will pay anyone, the only way zucc will pay is with a guillotine.

Corpos will make inter-platform deals that'll simply make all online data licensable for the right price and enrich each other so you can't avoid it while still actually being a career creative, but price out academic researchers and the public sector so that all fruits of it stay behind closed R&D doors and be free of ethics etc.

Continuing in your role as a useful idiot, you'll also most likely also foot the bill for it via subsidies from your taxes to "develop the AI sector" in some anti-China dick measuring contest by the US.

You will then be sold this data back via proprietary chat bots via a monthly subscription and you better pay up because once it gets really good, it will become mandatory to use for just about any job, leaving you with no choice.

Or you can support FOSS LLMs.

Jesus Christ this is Windows-tier insane computing behaviour from Ubuntu. Fuck Ubuntu.

Was obvious to anyone. Nothing wrong with phones except isolating outcasts, neuroduvergents and minorities from the world and forcing them with no escape to suffer the bullying from their teachers and class etc.

Unsubscribe from politics communities temporarily? Or do you browse by All or something?

I'm an amateur musician and I made this quite a while ago, I hope you like it and I'd love any and all feedback you can give :)

It was Inspired by this other neat remix I found way back: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hsf9HGIRbM I seem to recall this one playing on Lainchan's 404 page or something way back? Maybe someone else remembers something like that?

I actually even liked the app. Bruh.

Edited as per rules:

This is a post about the newly-viral in the west Chinese social media app Rednote.

I actually liked the app and even said as much, however the app prompts a permission for "Making and managing phone calls" as you can see in my first comment (linked below), I felt it needed to raise this as a potential concern as it's suspicious.

Original comment is at: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35733739/16034665 And https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35733739/16035177 And https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35733739/16035273

Original post is above the linked comments.

The potentially offending text is spread across several comments, the ban does not cite any specific comment.

Modlog is at: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/modlog?page=1&actionType=All&userId=7652836

Reason: Rule 1 on World News at Lemmy.ml, which goes as such:

No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia. Code of Conduct.

What's even funnier is I'm a bisexual trans woman from Russia, I'm about half of those things they are banning me for being prejudiced against, a fairly regular visitor and commented on .ml, hexbear vet (also banned unrelated to this lol), actually a pretty big fan of Mao (though he made some questionable decisions) and have had a book of his quotes by my bedside for god knows how many years by now, it's my support network when I need to feel heard in rage against various bastards like landlords.

I even liked the app and said it's probably not malware in my opinion as someone with genuine qualifications and a dayjob of making such calls. I was frankly not just being not bigoted, I was pretty charitable too for a multitude of reasons, one of which is to make the tankoids at ml more receptive to it.

However I guess unless I literally mindlessly see mandarin and go soyjak over it every time it's not simpling enough. Tankies isn't even it, it's literally weabooisn for china.

Dafuck? Removed for rule 3? [email protected] what the?

As far as I'm aware running and getting DNS to work on a home network is precisely everything to do with self-hosting.

I get that I'm being a bit of an opinionated asshole, and maybe my post is not overly constructive, but shit, a good rant to start a discussion should not be a reason for removal, least of all for a rule that has blatantly not been violated and that's the only actual reason I can think of why I'd been banned.

A good rant is literally the most worthwhile content imho, a good hearty debate invites viewpoints and opinions, even if the OP is unpopular. I hate the sterile, overly polite, overly PC tone enforced on some Lemmy communities.

As long as no one is literally insulting other users or spreading misinformation or being discriminatory/xenophobic based on characteristics. I wasn't even swearing. I'm so done, I'm blocking all of lemmy.world until they get their shit together.

You can also show them from terminal via curl, by piping it into feh with dash for stdin

These are starting to really stack up with the nutty mods in some of these places and I'd like to keep score and perhaps display them somewhere. I'm wondering if there's a list?

If not, short of crawling every community findable by an account and checking banned status by e.g. attempting to post, is there a way to collate such a list programmatically with e.g. an API or cURL or selenium automation, given the structure of the fediverse?

RetroArch never works right. Even once you get past the cores and all the other stupid bs, once you get to setting up the controls it never works right, most buttons just do not work in game, if they even work in the menus.

So many years, so much effort, all wasted.

It's still so much easier to keep BlastEm, Snes9x, Duckstation and whatever else installed, so much faster to set up controls and most of the time you don't even need to as everything works out of the box.

And yet plebbit will say nuhhh use muh libretro cores!!!!1 so heckin' wholesome Keanu chungus 100!!! I love my wife's boyfriend!!!!111 Thanks Reddit!!!!!

Why is the solarpunk memes community on this instance filled with such massively anti-left folks?

The concept of a public Unix box is neat, but why? Is this a way to connect with like-minded people? Is this locational? I've known about this for a while and I don't really understand the purpose. What is anonradio? Lipsy gopher show? I have so many questions, I'd love some answers.

I've found lots of examples in C of programs illustrating buffer Overflows, including those of pointer rewrites which has been of great help in understanding how a buffer overflow works and memory safety etc. but I've yet to be able to find an example illustrating how such a buffer overflow can rewrite a pointer in such a way that it actually results in code execution?

Is this just not a thing, or is my google-fu rust y? Tried ChatGPT and my local Mistral and they both seem unable to spit out precisely what I'm asking, so maybe I'm wording this question wrong.

If anyone in here knows, could point me in the right direction? Thanks y'all btw love this community 🧡

Hey y'all

So I've been a big anti-Wayland shill around here but decided to finally give it a shot, I installed Debian 12 with GNOME, and can't seem to get Plank working.

Without the Plank dock, GNOME is unusable, and KDE refuses to autostart Guake (does not save the setting in autostart), and when it works it seems broken (stuck to the left side of the screen).

These are fundamental apps to me for any decent Linux laptop use. What gives? Is there an alternative?
