America: declares economic war vs the entire world.

Americans: "Good thing people don't pay attention to things that directly effect them"

No need they will do that themselfs.

I never would have thought I would see a military operation so poorly done on such a large scale in my life. And clown world went: "Sure we had one massive cluster fuck of an operation, but what about a second?"

More I expect stupid actions from people in general but I don't think 16 year olds are any worse then most adults. I used midwesterners as an example of people in the USA that are not the most or least likely to do something really stupid. (more a dig on americans in general)

See that is a money making use I can get behind. There is such a shortage of elder care now.

Come on anyone can do this, just pull yourself up by the bootstraps already!

the fact that teenagers have underdeveloped reasoning skills

I can get that to a degree (like a 13 year old) but by 15 or 16 I expect about the same level of adulting as a US midwestern adult (not really a super high bar but enough to know that doing a nazi salute in a place dedicated to the memory of the victims of nazis while on a school trip from the only nation made up of the primary target of those same nazis, might be a life changing act).

I just don't get the level of coddling that is now going on with an increasingly older limit of what is considered children. I remember working my first part time job at 13 and told by older people then they moved out at the same age (so I should stop complaining or some such), and now I am told about 25 year old "kids". Its nuts, these are functioning people and although yes some stupid actions are expected when young there is no reason to not hold people to at least a modicum of responsibility.

They wanted to make it a "we work" at first, its not the overcharging that is the issue. The issue (at least for me) is turning every thing into a business venture. This was once a public building for teaching kids and was bought on the cheap to turn into another trendy revenue source.

The literal only other time I have seen a school turned into apartments was for subsidized housing, they needed to all but gut the inside of the building to make it work. This was not done here, these are class rooms with extra plumbing.

The overlap of the good news posts and dystopian posts have always been oddly large.

The whole story is oddly frustrating. The average rent in the area is $1189 FYI.

Here in Canada its getting real weird due to a mix of shit companies and carbon tax with heating. Like when its -40 it costs me about $750 per month in natural gas bills, but the "cost" of the gas itself is about $50 of the bill.

The town I live in reduced the amount of heating gas used in town buildings by 40% but actually saw an increase in costs due to the way carbon tax works for municipalities (basically all costs no rebates). Its not good that pellet stoves (that are not good for the environment) have become cost effective just due to a lack of regulation. Waste oil is also now a commodity (used motor oil) for heating, even though its like wood burning something that I thought was a thing of the past.
