I think this is a big issue for Putin and his power but I don't think it is his downfall like so much of what I see on social media.

I assume you suggest DynDNS because most people's home IP address does not stay static. My home IP has stayed the same for over 3 years. I guess there could be a security concern if the IP changed and another computer assumes my domain name, but that could be changed pretty quick.

I think for more niche communities we need more people. My interest in a Reddit like community is not technology, memes and world news. It is all my very niche hobbies.
