I would disagree, 100 millionaires don't own F1 teams or have boats so large and so much money they can take down bridges to get them out of port.

The problem is people like myself and many other can't fathom even desiring things so absurd... And many of these billionaires won't rest until they own the entire world.

I imagine there are significantly more complex concerns the representatives are navigating than the reductive assessments being presented here.

For example, the voter base has clearly demonstrated they are morons and SOME of the reps may reside in more moderate districts with split ticket voting. If they know it is a mathematical impossibility why would they waste political capital and open themselves up for midterm attack ads.

While you and I, or anyone with more intellectual capacity than a goldfish realize the danger of Trump, they may also want to ensure when they support impeachment, they do it for an issue that has more broad support of public opinion.

I often see reductive assessments of political behavior that lack any attempt to consider measured approaches within a given context, even historically. Hindsight is 20/20 and there are often many moving parts aside from what you or I feel is the correct thing to do.

Ahh thank you for that information! In all seriousness, I appreciate you correcting my ignorance.

List and Array terminology also bothers me ... Why not just call it an array?

Jokes on you, their arm can actually bend like a spine!

Not remotely surprised.

I dabble in conversational AI for work, and am currently studying its capabilities for thankfully (imo at least) positive and beneficial interactions with a customer base.

I've been telling friends and family recently that for a fairly small amount of money and time investment, I am fairly certain a highly motivated individual could influence at a minimum a local election. Given that, I imagine it would be very easy for Nations or political parties to easily manipulate individuals on a much larger scale, that IMO nearly everything on the Internet should be suspect at this point, and Reddit is atop that list.

In fairness, AI has radically improved my personal productivity.

I can make an instructional video for an internal task, use STT to transcribe the audio and then have AI organize my dictation into instructions. Is it perfect? Absolutely not, but it does about 85% of the job and saves me a ton of time organizing and formatting.

Additionally, it is very good for other menial tasks. I needed a comma separated list of in time format 00:00, incrementing by 30 second intervals, up to 50 minutes. Time math and formulas are weird, having it create that saved me a lot of key strokes.

Could humans do these things? Sure, but it's not an efficient use of time! When I need it done, I need it immediately; and I don't need someone on staff for these random tasks as they aren't remotely frequent enough to offer anyone a semblance of consistent employment.

It wasn't just Lemmy, I know otherwise reasonably intelligent people who became literally brainwashed from TikTok. We're talking far left, never Trumper's, knew he was an existential threat, but couldn't have their moral superiority tarnished and HAD to vote 3rd party. They bought into that propaganda hook, line and sinker.

shocking - It's almost as if there was a coordinated media campaign to paint both sides the same, and convince a bunch of people to vote against their own self interests. Absolutely did not see this coming... Nope, absolutely not.

This was an older article, I think I've seen new paints so reflective they can actually cool the building down during, not just reduce its heat during the day time.

It's saving me a hell of a lot of man hours on incredibly tedious tasks that would require looking up individual items in a wiki or the like and then directly populating the answers into a spreadsheet... Our team doesn't have the budget to hire someone to do it, so it basically just wouldn't get done without it.

Useful party trick for me!

I don't understand why these passively cooling roofs aren't being used EVERYWHERE seems like an absolute no brainer.
