As an existentialist, I say we are all secretly miserable. Nothing will ever satisfy us. It is part of life.

But a side effect of ketamine-- which Musk is addicted on-- is also depression. So yeah, in general Musk is genuinely miserable. Perhaps already miserable even before taking on ketamine.

Out of curiosity, where do you live? If you live in a conservative state, that explains a lot about the scoffing and the dismissal of the unfamiliar and new by your peers.

Anyway, screw the haters. They are the ones who will regret missing out on those privileged pay from paternity leave.

If aliens could judge us, they'd say: "So you are telling me, that humans have killed each other for imaginary lines on the ground; in the name of feckless leaders who don't give a fuck about you; and bananas?"

I have been around when the bean meme came and I still don't know how that meme started.

Things will get worse before it gets better.

AOC won surprisingly at her first foray into politics when she was up against an established monied opponent. If she primaries against Schumer, she might just be able pull it off again. Remember that even some MAGA appreciates her anti-oligarchy run, which in turn makes her look authentic for the masses. The look for authenticity in a politician is what many affluent people-- both liberals and conservatives alike-- do not understand of the Trump phenomenon, or even the popularity of Sanders, Walz and AOC.

We'd like to think that it is part of the plan, but it is reported that Musk is pissed at the tanking stocks. And if he isn't rightfully pissed, Trump would not have tried to convince people to buy Tesla.

I think there is no plan, but merely opportunity. You know what people say, don't let a crisis go to waste. It is a rule of thumb for businesses and investors. The stocks go down, just buy thr dip.

I don't know why you are picking fights and letting a faceless, random Internet stranger live rent free in your mind. The centrist Democrats/liberals are tone deaf. There is no getting through to them other than their value of private property, free market and stocks. If those things are even nudged, they will immediately side with fascists and make up some circular logic of excuses, instead of admitting what they truly value for siding with fascists.

...menage à trois.....soixante-neuf....

But aside from those, what have the French done for us?

Going a little bit tangent, legal philosophy always fascinates me. My particular interest is international law and its paradox. It is by intention the terms "agreement", "accords" and "treaty" do not mean the same thing, and their level of legality and enforcement varies.

"VoTe BlUe no mAtTeR who"

Liberals as always would rather side with fascists.

I wasn't fully convinced before that Putin has Trump in his pocket, but after that stunt, I am convinced that he is under Putin's thumb. Trump and co. could have had marching orders from Putin to do exactly that. Also, this is something that Putin have done and would do, publicly humiliating someone on live TV.

Why would they want to win anyway? When they are already winning from so much corporate donations???!!!

And unfortunately lemmy.ml is getting more online traffic recently.

I saw plenty of kintsugi kits available in my area (to those who do not know what kintsugi is, it is the art of fixing broken ceramic/pottery items using lacquer). However, I do not know if the quality is good for the price presented by these shops. Could anyone knowledgeable or experienced in kintsugi give some tips? I'd appreciate any help and thank you in advance.

I got hyped by the TV series so I will play the game for the first time (yes, I know, it took this long). I usually prefer to buy GOG version of a game but I saw the rating of FO4 GOG at 3.9/5. Why is that? I have read somewhere that there is technical issue of some sort which includes modding for GOG version? I expected higher gamer rating for FO4 in GOG but a lower rating typically indicates for me some genuine issues.

Edit: also the GOG Version says it does not include the Creation Club. What is it and is it in some way better than using Nexus mods?

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I can't count the number of times I played Metal Gear Solid games over and over to unlock new features playing the hardest difficulty and with handicap features, and also to find Easter eggs. Speaking of Easter eggs, you'd lose a number of hours exploring every nook and cranny finding them!

I was watching a video on Willem Dafoe on his iconic roles, and his passion to craft and life, and positivity, exudes from him immensely. In that video, I am surprised he remembers from which of his movies the lines came from. It made me love him more as an actor because he loves life and his job.

But then during the interview, I remembered too when I watched Kevin Spacey's interview before, admiring him and it turned out he is a creep. I was telling to myself about Willem Dafoe "please don't be a creep, please don't be a creep."

Willem seems like a genuinely nice guy though but I hope I don't get proven wrong!

Edit: clarified the title
