Okay, I'll go fight back with my fuckin NOTHING. I have some kitchen knives, maybe I can do something with that. I have a car that needs to be repaired every 2 weeks, let me go ride that into battle. The personal anecdote has nothing to do with the people who as I've already stated, are already doing everything they can, short of suicide. The people cowering and the people chanting we are the best are two completely different groups of people. The NRA is a political group made for "rising when needed", a prime example of a group in the US chanting we are the best, but the NRA doesn't see anything thats going on as wrong. Those of us that do see things going wrong are doing our best, but without mass suicide theres not a whole lot more we can do that we aren't already doing. Writing and calling politicians, showing up to town halls, protesting (violent and nonviolent). I'm not sure what you expect us to do short of forming a leftist militia that will be tienamin squared in less than 2 seconds of forming. The working class as it stands can't do much other than sit and get shot at by ice and the coast guard while waiting for a larger politician to actually fucking do something.

I can agree that he's doing the bare minimum to say "I don't like this", but I'm not going to let him do PR to make the less informed believe he's somehow on their side. He isn't. If he was, he wouldn't have had Charlie Kirk, Steve Banon and Dr Phil on his podcast. He would have had progressive voices.
If he wanted to stop ICE, theres a lot more he could be doing other than "aw shucks guys, stop it.". He could send out state authorities to defend against ICE. After all, Trump is supposed to be the president of "States rights" right? I don't see a reason to give him credit for anything other than lip service, or for barking without a bite.
Trump is a bigger threat than Newsom. Let's not allow Newsom to become a bigger threat than he already is, let's encourage Newsom to stop platforming fascists on a podcast and start working for his state. Positive reinforcement is not how politicians make policy and important decisions. Public outrage is.

It depends on what you want out of your phone. I use Calyx because I like living a foss-as-much-as-possible lifestyle, and they've got some pretty cool networking features (sharing VPN over hotspot and across profiles) and I prefer to use MicroG over sandboxed play services. Muerena is kind of for people who want an iOS-like experience without the spying. Ive never actually tried iode myself. Lineage is kind of the base starting point. Its available for a lot more phones than Calyx and Graphene support (You can even install it on some Nintendo Switches!), but its not as Privacy hardened. UBTouch & Postmarket OS are for the brave souls who want to give linux mobile a go. I want to try it one day but I want to use KDE Plasma Mobile instead of Ubuntu Touch. PostmarketOS afaik is the furthest along mobile linux OS with KDE Plasma Mobile, but the phone I would want it on has broken audio drivers ATM so its a no go for me rn.
Give them all a look though, look into threat modeling and what features you might want. You may find Graphene works just fine for you, you may find another project suits your needs a lot more. Its hard to really say one way or another! :P
