Fable 3

It got a lot of flak back then, mostly because people were sick to shit of Peter Molyneux promising THE WORLD and delivering, like, JUST A GAME.

But here's the thing. I didn't follow gaming news. I didn't know what a Peter molyneux was. I just know I got a fun little action RPG where I get to be royalty, and that scratched a very specific itch for me.

Everyone who was supposed to prevent this and had the power to do so either tried and failed or didn't bother.

Right now the objective is "Survive", the bad guys have already won.

My (family's) Homeserver is my dad's old gaming rig from ~2014

I just put an 8 TB Hard Drive in it and set it up as a combination Emby Server and ghetto "NAS".

I'm not as salty about EGS as a lot of PC gamers seem to be.

......... But god damn is their default client trash.

Thank fuck for Heroic Launcher on Linux (I think it even got a Windows version?)

But honestly, people complain about exclusivity, and seem to not realise (or care?) that certain games would not exist without this kind of funding deal. They are only funded by the platform that pays for their exclusivity. If you want to be mad at something, don't be mad at the devs, don't even be mad at Epic, be mad at Capitalism as an institution, which rules that art needs money to exist.

Now, now. Cinnamon is a perfectly competent DE. Gets out of the way. Does what it's supposed to.

Let us not treat it like it is Gnome.

Let's be honest here

I like Linux as much as the next guy

...... But a violent kick to the 'nards is still more pleasant than Windows 11, so this is a "Luigi Wins By Doing Absolutely Nothing" scenario.

Not really. I think the whole internet should be accessible to everyone.

Do I think Americans are often obnoxious online? Yes.

Do I know for a fact their big tech corporations are equally as evil as the Chinese ones, no matter how much their propaganda tries to convince me China is worse? Definitely.

Is Xwitter a blight on society that only got worse since an out-and-out fascist bought it? Of course it is.

But closing ourselves off from the world is not the solution.

What I would support would be stricter regulations on data collection and algorithmic manipulation, because those things are bad no matter who is doing it.

I would support heavier tariffs on foreign big tech, because if they're going to use our people as a resource, they should at least pay up so we can put that money towards taking care of our own.

And I would support a government program to incentivise home-grown technological solutions, because digital sovereingty is a concern, and the only solution is having our own shit.

Title. It's very easy to find films in the original language or subbed. The megathread has plenty. But I want to build up a collection of kid-appropriate and Brazilian dubbed films for my nephew.

The two mainstream ones are out of development. I live under rocks, but not so many rocks that I don't know this.

I was hoping for either a backup of them as they were, or some fork(s) that continued development.

On Windows, if you click MMB on some windows, your mouse cursor will turn into a little ↕️ icon, and then you can scroll by moving the mouse cursor up and down, with it going faster the further you drag away from the position it was originally at.

This is one (1) behaviour I miss from Windows. Hours upon hours of scroll-wheeling makes my joints quite tired.

But well. Linux is nothing if not customisable, so I'm wondering if there's a way to recreate this behaviour on it.

I'm on KDE Plasma.

Title.

Don't really want to give my soul to a tech megacorps, but I do a lot of writing for work and hobbies, and sometimes carpal tunnel gets the best of me.

I don't mean BETTER. That's a different conversation. I mean cooler.

An old CRT display was literally a small scale particle accelerator, firing angry electron beams at light speed towards the viewers, bent by an electromagnet that alternates at an ultra high frequency, stopped by a rounded rectangle of glowing phosphors.

If a CRT goes bad it can actually make people sick.

That's just. Conceptually a lot COOLER than a modern LED panel, which really is just a bajillion very tiny lightbulbs.

Cheekily "fixing" this post

Character looks down at a sword on the ground and asks "Hey little corpse of God, how's it going?"

Next panel shows the sword surrounded by flames, angry scribbles, and those "menacing" kanji from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

A quiet beat panel

Character says "... Yea."

Do you people also make memes off of your campaigns? Care to share some out of context?
