Speak for yourself. I think that's one of the things Tesla got right. Cars shouldn't have features locked behind software updates though.
Yeah, it does. But I think the intent of "Magastan" is to draw a comparison to "those countries". But this is stooping down to Trump's level imo
Don't sully the "-stan" countries like that, they don't deserve that association.
It means it took a lot of time and money to gain vast sums of knowledge, but has no useful ways to apply it.

I do think AI could enforce having a quick summary at a glance... if it was reliably accurate. But again, why do that and prevent traffic from going to the people who did all the work
Yeah, that's why I don't like the summary idea, because then even fewer people would click through. It also requires opening the comments which also most people won't do.
I guess fewer people click through with less sensational headlines too, but at least they're not mislead.
I know we all hate AI here... But getting an AI to rewrite headlines to de-sensationalize them sounds like a fantastic feature for a Lemmy client to implement. Just need mods to allow it

Nature's Path are Canadian. Though the website says "Canadian owned and operated in the US" whatever that means. Seems like they have 1/3 plants in Canada.
I mean, it's both our auto industries. As much as I'd love to see cheap EVs, letting them in would destroy a massive industry here as surely as the tariffs.
If we can somehow entice Chinese car companies manufacture here as part of removing our tariffs, that might be a good compromise... But then they won't be cheap anymore 🙃
Big tent parties are still fractured, it's just that all the arguing happens behind the scenes out of the public eye. With PR you could actually vote on the issues that were most important, and then watch the debates play out in public.
