Ok, let's do it. I'll message the mods and ask if we can have this one. And let you know it goes.

I hope I don't get banned. but I keep saying it because the attitude on Lemmy lately has been very ban-heavy to conservative views.

Trust me, I'm more than happy to be wrong.

But I also get called a "troll" on a daily basis, even tho I have not said anything trolling. So meh, it's Lemmy, hard to tell what will happen.

If I do get banned, I'll just start another username though. I scrub my usernames every few months anyway, so no biggie.

Yep, it's easy. That's what's so great about it. Also since some instances get pretty restrictive or ban happy, many just hope on to another instance that is more welcoming.

We lost because the Republican party is REALLY good at running fear-based disinformation campaigns and a lot of Americans are not very smart and easily influenced.

I disagree. I think they totally suck at it. I think the democrats just sucked worse. And many "on-the-fence" folks got tired of Democrats talking down to them and making fun of them just because they weren't 100 percent on board with every dem idea.

And in fact, many democrat strategist have said the same thing since the election and are asking that Democrats lose some of the ego and elitism in order to turn things around the next election. And i agree with them.

Lemmy sure hasn't learned from that mistake tho. I see many on Lemmy just outright making fun of anyone who didn't vote for Harris--even if they voted a third party.

I honestly think you all need to lose another election for you to learn your lesson.

I post good faith comments and expect a good faith response, you know a conversation.

But someone who posts an conservative article in a conservative community is under no obligation to have to discuss it. Many like it, post it, and move on.

If it’s an echo bunker of misinformation and lies that doesn’t welcome opposing opinions then just be honest about it

And from what I see on Lemmy, that perfectly describes Lemmy as a whole.

Also, as far as I know, there is no way to make a community private. I WISH there was though. Or if there is, please tell me how to do it.

I wasn't upset. I was merely pointing out that you have to be careful of assumptions on a platform like Lemmy that is so decentralized and focused on privacy.
