You could argue that, but I could also argue that the majority of M16/AR-15 style rifles issued by the US military are semi-automatic just like civilian models. Why? Because semi-automatic fire is, by far, more accurate, efficient, and deadly than burst or automatic fire.

So whether you want to call it an assault rifle, a long rifle, or whatever, the one you buy at Bass Pro Shops is just as advanced and deadly as what our military carries. So asking for some common sense gun laws and improved mental healthcare before you can just walk into a store and walk out with what is functionally the exact same rifle the most powerful military in the world issues to its soldiers maybe isn't too fucking much to ask. The number one cause of death for children in the US is fucking firearms. As a lifelong gun owner, stop pissing and moaning about how improved gun laws will ruin your hobby while fucking kindergartners are far more likely to die to a .223 than their family is to know when their next meal will be.

This is just bullshit GOP deflection whenever someone calls it what it is.The AR in AR-15 may stand for Armalite, but an AR-15 is still an assault rifle.

The U.S. Army defines assault rifles as "short, compact, selective-fire weapons that fire a cartridge intermediate in power between submachine gun and rifle cartridges.

And

...examples of intermediate cartridges are the 7.92×33mm Kurz, the 7.62×39mm and 5.56×45mm NATO.

Yeah, let me know how to get GrubHub to even respond to a support request for an order that never arrived, much less refund me and then you can tell me GrubHub is better. I had an order that was never delivered on Sept 23 and GrubHub has still not responded to or refunded me. At least with Doordash or UberEats I can get issues with my order addressed almost immediately.

Not sure interesting is the adjective I'd choose... disturbing, maybe.

I agree with what you're saying for the most part, but for a population the size of Australia with 1000 respondents, a 99% confidence level has a margin of error of 4% which is perfectly acceptable. Unless the survey targeted very specific demographics versus a random sample, it should be very accurate.

I don't see any evidence supporting this, but I also don't recall ever seeing reruns in the US.

You're the person that dies first in a horror movie because you're too stubborn to listen to actual facts presented to you. Chimps are absolute killing machines. I don't care if you're 6 foot 6 and 250 pounds of pure muscle - you will not win a fight against a fully grown chimpanzee. They have two 1+ inch fangs and a bite force of 1300psi. That's enough to bite clean through most any bone in your body. Male chimps reach about 150 or so pounds, but can get larger.

This is what happens when a chimp attacks a human:

The emergency crew described Nash's injuries as "horrendous".[19] Within the following 72 hours, Nash underwent more than seven hours of surgery on her face and hands by four teams of surgeons. The hospital provided counseling to its staff members who initially treated her because of the extraordinary nature of Nash's wounds.[27] Paramedics noted she had lost 9 fingers, nose, eyes, lips, and mid-face bone structure and received significant brain tissue injuries.[28] Doctors removed chimpanzee hair and teeth that had been implanted into her bones and reattached her jaw...

I don't think most people realize how small coyotes actually are. Depending on the type, coyotes weigh on average 25-35 pounds, with the largest males not topping 45 pounds. The smallest male Great Pyrenees weigh 100 pounds, and can get up to 160 pounds. Those coyotes didn't stand a chance, didn't matter he was outnumbered 10 to 1. Imagine the average adult male versus ten five-year-olds. They might do a little damage, but they don't stand a chance of winning.

Chimpanzees get up to five feet tall and have up to an 8 foot wingspan. The average human female is 5'4 "and males average 5'9" with a proportional wingspan. Chimps have a very high amount of fast twitch muscle fibers which are significantly stronger than the slow twitch muscle fibers that make up the majority of human muscles.

Chimps have extremely long arms with way more lean muscle mass. And that muscle mass is 50% stronger than a human's, making chimps 3-4 times stronger than the average human. It has massive incisors with a bite force of *** 1300 psi (8900 kPa}***. That's more than a grizzly bear's 950 psi.

You have a fighting chance against a wolf. You have zero chance unarmed against a full grown chimp. It will literally rip you apart with ease.
