I recently watched this film and loved it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Language_%282024_film%29?wprov=sfla1 . Big Wes Anderson vibes with lots of weird surreal comedy, and features lots of good bits of ephemera.

And as steever mentioned earlier, the national film board of Canada is a good start!

God dammit this pisses me off. Ecological regulations need sharp, razor teeth.

Up To Here is one of my all time fav albums, start to finish. Trickle Down is especially enjoyable. Love those guys, great band and Gord was a great poet.

Thanks for the info. The link isnt loading for me, but I hope they are able to leverage renewables to power the desalination, as I've heard it is an energy-intensive process.

Several years ago I heads that Capetown South Africa would be the first major city without water...

I love this. It's so true. I always wondered why people were reluctant to ride a bike because it seemed like "work" or "exercise". It's easier than walking, and much faster to boot.

I'd say go to a bike shop and try out some e-bikes. Find one that fits and that you enjoy riding, and start taking it for fun rides! I'd highly suggest a rack and some panniers (saddle bags) for carrying stuff - it makes it way easier to run errands and stuff via bike.

20 miles is a big bike commute, and riding on the edge of the highway isn't super fun. But as others have said, maybe there are alternate routes. A 25 mile route through paths/side streets would be way more enjoyable than a highway shoulder.

Good luck on your biking endeavour! It's a great addition to life.

There's a whole genre of music called Psychedelic, with many sub genres.
