Propaganda Works. Inviting a social media oligarch to run your party's propaganda is going to work.

Germany, your time is running out to stop this. Trust us.

I get it - afaict he's trying to communicate and the person he's talking to doesn't "get" owls. It's a quick shorthand to explain how they can be injured without having to go into great detail about the peripheral vision, and what advantages there are for a raptor to have the type of eyesight they have.

The reporter isn't asking about the history of owls, or what rictal bristles are (though they should!).

Race horses aren't "smart", Crocodiles aren't "smart", the largest organism on the planet isn't "smart". Of course all of those beings are very smart - it just takes longer to explain it to someone who isn't in the know.

Ahhhhh yeah. Here we go.

CONCERN.

Yeah. Lots of fucking concern coming. An avalanche of concern. A tidal wave of concern.

That's all though.

Openly advocate?

I mean . . . I wouldn't say that.

It's a flawed premise to begin with. Just like the "Shaka, when the walls fell" was a flawed premise. But it gave us an interesting sci-fi episode.

After facing online scrutiny, the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women has taken steps to remove a reading list for children from its website that referenced Adolf Hitler as an example of leadership.

"Hitler and all intelligent leaders throughout history have understood that the way to change a country was through the training of its youth, to get them while they are young," the organization's reading list said.

On its website, the organization has a photograph of the Israeli flag and touts its support for the country.

On This Day in 1793, Revolutionaries Executed the King of France by Guillotine, a Deadly Machine They Saw as a Symbol of Equality

Today of all days, and for reasons known only to themselves, the Smithsonian Magazine decided to publish an article on class warfare and schemes of execution.

“Highwaymen were broken on the wheel, witches burnt at the stake and thieves hung,” wrote Eamonn Carrabine, a sociologist and criminologist at the University of Essex in England. Aristocrats, on the other hand, were usually beheaded with a sword, a privilege that “was not extended to most commoners, who were decapitated by an unwieldy ‘heading axe’ that bludgeoned its way through the neck, often requiring several attempts.”
